The way I see it, george bush began the "war on terror", and now Obama is ending it as quickly as possible.

By sending in more troops than Bush did? Way to go on that one, Obama...

You consider 4-8 more years of war under Obama a "quick ending"? That just doesn't compute. Delete and install a new political app. There's no shame in admitting an error.

What about Obama's other wars? No comment on Libya, Syria and Yemen? You are aware that CENTCOM and CIA have drone units based in Yemen now?

Do you consider arming, training and funding Syrian rebels the wisest thing to do? Remember, Bush1 was criticized/condemned for arming Baathist troops serving under Saddam Hussein during the 1980's war between Iran and Iraq. Reagan was condemned for arming Taliban during the Russian war in Afghanistan. Choose wisely.

(Reuters) - President Barack Obama has signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for rebels seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government, U.S. sources familiar with the matter said.

The Syrian rebels can go fuck themselves. It is common knowledge that Arabs are unfit for self-rule. If the rebels win, then there's a chance that they'll fuck it all up even worse. If the government wins, then you just have an asshole in charge who murders his own citizens.

Go look at Libya.

Fmr. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi - Progressive leftist.

DAMASCUS, Syria 2007 (AP) — U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi mingled with Syrians in a market as she began a trip to Syria aimed at opening dialogue with its leader, Bashar Assad. President George W. Bush criticized the visit, saying it sends mixed signals to Damascus. Pelosi's visit was a new high-profile challenge to Bush by the majority Democrats in Congress, who are taking a more assertive role in influencing policy in the Middle East and the Iraq war. The tour sought to highlight the Democrats' stark differences with the Bush administration's policy of shunning Damascus, which they have depicted as a failure.

Democrats have argued that the U.S. should engage its top rivals in the Mideast, Iran and Syria, in order to make headway in easing crises in Iraq, Lebanon and the Israeli-Arab peace process. Last year, the bipartisan Baker-Hamilton commission recommended talks with the two countries.
