The playerbase and general fucks to be given are lowering slowly. At the moment we still have a very core group of players still here but at the current numbers, even if 1-2 decide to quit playing every few weeks there won't be a playerbase at all soon enough.

A game as good as H&H, spoiled by crippling lag?

A game as good as H&H, with such a tiny userbase?

If you don't think this is a waste, you don't know the meaning of the word.

While I would like someone to work on the game, I wouldn't like it, nor would it, to be anyone but jorbtar. One of my favorite "game" aspects of H&H is that it follows a theme of trying to be as little like a typical "game" as possible. loftar tries to steer away from UI based things such as seeing other people's names and in-game "stages" that demote the idea of it being rather free-form gameplay, that I find rather unique and appealing to the immersion factor of the game.

As much as I want the lag to be fixed, I highly doubt loftar would out-source the work.

This is their property, their idea, their dream. That is right where it stays: With them and not with anybody else.

I did understand him. I'm just saying if I had some dream-property that was falling apart because of negligence, I'd at least either hire someone to properly maintain it for me or sell it to someone who will take care of it. That was, if I actually CARED about my dream property.

2. Rent a server that can properly handle H&H/fix code so that it's not so laggy (easy for me to say, I know, but I have faith)
3. Start charging a small subscription fee
4. Guarantee game maintenance, regular updates, etc

I can see this game being the next Runescape. In fact, Runescape started out EXACTLY like this. A personal hobby of 2 guys. Bare bones, a bit rough on the edges. Started free, then they charged an optional subscription for extra features. Guess what, the original founders of Runescape are now worth $600 million and it's the biggest MMORPG on the web in terms of active players.

Edit: I see a lot of people in this thread arguing about stupid stuff. Here are the facts:

- Jorb + Loftar own this game, it is 100% in their control, and up to them to decide what happens with it
- Most of us are extremely grateful for the creation of H&H, especially with it being F2P, and grateful for the financial sacrifices made by Jorb + Loftar
- Most of us see H&H as a very good game with huge potential
- Some people (such as myself) respectfully plead with Jorb + Loftar to do something with the current state of H&H - it's an amazing game that seems to have been developed 95% at the way but fallen at the last hurdle.

Let me first reply to your commercial idea. You do realize what you like about this game will change dramaticly if it were to go that way? It would become a slave to subscribers. They would expect to be listened to or leave thus changing it to be overly player friendly and swaying to the whim of those people. Such Runescape has become since you mentioned them.

Alright I understand you want changes and improvements. Most of use do. But you are not entitled to them. Jorb and Loftar made this game in their spare time and placed it up for free. Yes they are working on Salem for a living. That's fine. Im glad Haven garnered them the opportunity.

I suggest you just buckle down and wait for them to have more time to update things. If they had no interest in coming back would they continue a server, upgrade software, or even fix crashes, and many other maintainance issues?

Learn some patience and be constructive.

It's funny because you present your own opinion as fact.

Subscribers do not dictate a game. Devs can listen to subscribers, or they can simply say no.

your car analogy is flawed. not only is the car far from being 95% complete, but the parts of it that are complete are not actually complete but prototypes made of spare parts of other cars and plumbing supplies laying around in the garage, blocks of wood, silly putty, and duct tape. sure, they work, mostly, and will work for a while longer, but they are not finished. also, there aren't any seats, or interior trim, the steering wheel is actually not a wheel, but a wrench duct taped onto the steering column, and while doing a routine oil change recently, the cap wasn't replaced on the oil pan so all the oil leaked out and the engine seized and only one of the cylinders fires now. sure, it's a great concept, but it's not going on the highway anytime soon and you're delusional if you think it is, but asking them to let someone else take over is like asking lucas to hand off star wars. locked.
