I wouldn't call Libya a failure. And how the hell can you blame lack of bipartisan cooperation on Obama? And asa foreigner, I can tell you that while he's no Bill Clinton (god, why can't he get a 3rd mandate  ), Obama is still miles above Dubya or Romney when it comes to international perception of USA.

while clinton was by no means a bad president, his legacy will end up as the president who just happened to be elected during america's "roaring 90s". with the proliferation of the internet, the expansion of good old silicon valley and the forming of the first dot-com economic bubble, microsoft's initial stranglehold on the PC industry, and the founding and further entrenchment of american companies such as google, yahoo and amazon.com - all happening during clinton's 8 years.

of course, george w. bush will be remembered for his actions post 9/11 in bringing "peace and liberation" to the middle east, and everything associated with such.

and sadly, obama will be remembered by americans as the guy who was there when the economy was in the tank, the housing bubble burst, (and it was a rather big one). and many people are upset about the "welfare state" and "obamacare" (a rudimentary step towards socialized public hearthcare) which he is blamed for, though the obama administration really hasn't made many significant changes to the current policies of medicare, medicaid and income assistance. also don't forget, that this is how many people in america still unironically view our president: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upvZdVK913I

That's because a majority of the "Obamacare" package conveniently doesn't go into effect until 2014.

of course, it's almost always easier for a president to get things done in the 2nd term. one could say, a president has "more flexibility" after an election year, comrade ;)

Yes, they do seem to ramp up the tyranny and bloodshed their second term around. :D

Come'on, make a case for why Obama deserves a second term without invoking the Bu$h strawman or gridlock. Defend Obama's policies or STFU.

obama deserves a second term because, for better or worse, he is the one running up against mitt romney. i, along with a significant portion of voting-age americans, feel that romney is a man who would sell his own mother flood insurance in the sahara.

while the economy sucks and many of obama's policies suck and many promises were broken, i believe that many of the actions obama has taken such as "cash for clunkers", affordable housing act, and yes, even socialized medicine are things that can ultimately be good for our country, if implemented properly. although good, fair, and sustainable implementation has yet to be determined for such programs, getting these ideas into the sphere of topics for politicians to discuss is not a bad thing.

another reason to vote obama 2012: as i think dagrimreefah said, we are ultimately looking at 2 sides of the same coin. look at our foreign policy changes since 2001:

1. when al-qaieda, etc attack the US, george bush and the republicans begin calling airstrikes and sending troops into the middle east, later starting a war where we wound up destroying the last of the motherfucking Hanging Gardens of Babylon, leveling cities, toppling governments, killing tons of people, etc.

2. there have been no successful terrorist attacks in the US since the democats took the executive branch in 2008. this is a fact that seems to be easy to forget these days with all of everything else that's been going on.

so 2 sides of the same coin, right? obama is the "good cop" in the old "good cop/bad cop" routine that the democrats and republicans are playing with the middle east, and so far it seems to be working, n'est ce-pas?

i voted for obama in 2008, mostly because he was running against john "bomb bomb iran" mccain. the thought of mccain/palin, and feeling that i had to do anything i could in order to stop this from happening, is what prompted me to vote obama.

and this is basically how american politics works

Sure, you can't give the credit for good economy to Clinton, but you gotta give the man some recognition for foreign policy. Speaking of which, I think that Obama handled the Benghazi incident quite well, seeing how he didn't send in an invasion force to alienate the Libyans who now view USA favourably (and they are the majority AFAIK) and further sink the US finances. I think that if it were Mittens, the GOP would push him into opening yet another front in the War on Terror.
