I've always wanted to create my own game (not copy Jorb/Loftar's). If one was to want to learn how to do this, where would one start? Websites that teach about coding? Free resources to create graphics, maps, etc?

BTW, let me know if you finish. I'd love to try it.

I get your point Borka but I don't think anyone's intent is to make money off a "private hnh server" so ok then???????????

While i trust APXeolog and his team in not wanting to earn money with "private servers" , i much more trust in the rights of artists to decide what happens with their creative work.

They've only released the client software under GNU LGPL (the Artwork is excluded).

I'm sure they are aware of them and also don't care about them. I was going to add that it makes me sad to say that but it actually makes me a little happy considering I've read some of Jorb's posts on his political and legal views.

You should be thankful they don't lock this thread and ban all of you from the forums. Nobody who creates something unique wants that creation copied and used by someone else without either receiving credit, financial compensation or an expressed written agreement that the creation will be used for a specific purpose.

This sums up my views. I know that if I create something, it absolutely pisses me off if people take it and brand it as their own.
