clayshire is already half locked down thanks to claims..Don't think that's a good idea.
I mean, i had to come back a couple times because you guys had the cast iron on the claim of blaze.

That's true. I hope they implement shared claims soon, it's tough living in a village with restricted supplies.

Sorry about the claim business, but it was well worth it when our place became targeted by thieves. The action always comes whenever I'm not there Image

Also, if you've got anything to trade, Denvon always gives a good deal. Just today she traded away 40 wrought iron coins for a boar leather helmet. The trader originally offered the helmet for 15 coins. When haggling, you're supposed to accept a lower deal, not a higher one Image, but I suppose it was in the interest of good relations rather than profit.

We've just finished outsourcing our less than used resources into a safer and hard-to-reach spot. So thieves shouldn't be a problem, as they'll be looking in town for items that aren't there. Of course, this means it's harder for us to reach, but protection has to come before convenience Image.
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

Clayshire has a coin press working? Nice. I dont think bottleneck does, yet.
Of course, if our steelmaking hadnt been disrupted, we would have...

Soon no more "i'll give you more for that" as we are setting a standard price for our coins. I'll give you more details on that later on.
And let me remind you we (laketown) also trade boar hats. We will give you guys a discount for living so near.

Also you should remember that the penalty for trespassing is low.

Thats a good idea...even if the actual price changes from trade to trade, SOME kind of baseline would be nice.
Im not a metal worker, so I have no idea how much 1/100 of a metal bar is worth.
What is the conversion between a wrought iron bar and a steel bar? Im guessing it is at least 10-1, maybe more
How much would you guys give me for, say, a running rabbit sausage? I dont want a special newbie price, because Im obviously not. What do you guys think it would be worth? I know the value to me of sausage, so it would give me something to work from.

We have not worked out the details but as it is now the value for a steel bar between clayshire and laketown is 35 cast iron bars.
That's 35 iron coins for 1 steel coin. and 10 wrought coins for 1 steel coin.

I think leather to cast iron ratio lies somewhere between 1:1 and 3:1. So one leather would cost 30 iron coins at max. Or 3 wrought coins. Maybe even 1 steel coin. So for 1 steel bar you can buy a little more than 100 leather at max.

I have some tiny experience with mining that does not include wrought iron. but 1-1 for leather to cast iron would not personally be acceptable. there is a 16 hour time commitment for leather. not counting hunting and water carrying (for no XP)
less than wrought, for sure. I would trade leather to cast iron at 3-4 only. That might just be me tho.

Any word on the sausages?

Actually, what do you guys think of a ROUGH scale of cast > leather > Wrought > Steel as -
1 3 10 100
on this scale, I think a boar helmet would rate around 25

Would it be possible to implement a value system based (partially?) off of exact time spent? So for example, x coins = 1 hour, maybe multiplied or added by the number of different phases it takes to get that item. Just brainstorming ;)

Leather is cheap because it's easy to make and doesn't take more than 10 minutes work per batch. I know i'd trade 2 to 1 for cast iron.

Also, implementing a value is not up to the devs. It's up to us.
