Honestly, the fact that this thread even has to exist is disgusting, repulsive, and just plain disdainful. There is no reason that someone should need to go to these lengths to cheat at a game. This is beyond the point of obsession/trolling/lulz, whatever you want to call it. It's reprehensible.

To those affected, You have my sincerest apologies, I'd hate for something like this to happen to anyone.

Beware when using Skype.

I'm afraid thats a bit over my head, but, I'm so sorry for you - it's really, really made me worry in case it was in retaliation for giving me advice. :(

Did you take your own advice and report it? And, if so, i'd be really interested to hear how it was handled where you live.
As for skype - i'm not sure i'm going to continue with it atm.

So true. :(

No, because I'm living in Poland. Those kinds of virtual attacks never get solved over here. You'd actually better be off ComboFixing your hkeys with instructions provided by advanced specialists, who provide such help for free (infact they are just geeks who sit in home writing combofix scripts for bypassers who need help - and i truly mean completely by free).
Amanda44 wrote:As for skype - i'm not sure i'm going to continue with it atm.

This would be your safest move at the moment. Microsoft (edited because indeed fail) has purchased Skype recently, and they add a lot of malicious adware just to track you from the PC / Laptop / whatever position. They did it earlier, they are doing it now, they will do it in future. Infact I think I'm going to uninstall Skype and start using a Skype Chat simulator, so I can actually access the chat without the risk of getting my PC endangered, or I'll use a new account just for my family / just to trade on haven etc.
borka wrote:How did someone took over your PC "using Skype Software"?

I'm not completely sure. Might have been a security leak over some of my software components. I'll be sure next time and don't leave an outdated virus software on my powered PC over night.
borka wrote:What adware? What Exploder malware? What destruction?
Any logs?

No, my HDD fried after the attack. I will have to purchase a new one.
borka wrote:What Browser are you using?

An updated Mozilla Firefox.
Your last request-question cannot be fulfilled, as my HDD basically fried, and there is little chance I'm going to rescue any data. We'll see about that - in the meantime I have given my HDD to a local IT Specialist and he is going to check which parts of HDD are damaged.
I am buying a new HDD, which is twice as big and works on SATA3 technology, so it technically should be slightly better. I'll keep you informed whenever you want to know more.

This, they're watching, your chat-logs are theirs, which is normally all bad. Good thing all I have on there is Transformational Non-Cisgendered Furry Erotic RP based in a Steampunk Technoverse.

There is a certain amount of analysis done on Skype chats and most free mail services. The worst offender, btw, is Yahoo who actively sells everything they know about you to anyone who will buy it. And of course, various governments (US and China I know are very intrusive in their own ways). That said, Microsoft hasn't done much with Skype in this regard. Since the acquisition of Skype, it's become apparent that it's a morass of crappy spaghetti code, which MS is dumping tons of money into to improve the part they think is valuable (voice/video chat & phone xover). If there really are a crop of Skype abuses sprouting up, it's much more likely that since the take over, former Skype employees with insider knowledge of Skype's architecture have allowed this information to get out, maliciously or accidentally. For instance, this is how I know what I know about the state of Skype's architecture :). That said, I have noticed Skype being a lot more flakey recently, and no longer run it on my desktop box :/. I am curious how someone could manipulate Skype to do some of the things you are describing, as I know many people who use Skype extensively, and none of them have had any such issues...

You're kidding? Since micro-soft put their hands on Skype and put there their malicious activex all over, virus writers and spam abusers got yummy cake delivered right to their mouths.
I hate you! Yes, you!
