What if it was a channeling thing instead?

I don't get it.
I know what it means, but how?

so i am guessing you mean
a) you cast it
b) channel begins
c) channel ends
d) you get the effect

how does this solves ANYTHING?

If you get attacked midchannel, it cancels.

My only concern with this is that it would making taming more inaccessible. Since transporting livestock isn't really a viable option, ranching and livestock trading is non-existant, so every little hermit group has to tame their own local animals. As far as PvP usage, I'm not that sure, as movement combat my experience is mainly running away.

This seems really sensible, for both thunder and flex (it would make flex not quite as spammy important, but the longer cooldown won't make the negative effects so drastic that it's still usable).

it would make it 100% useless in combat, the idea of making it for "animal only" would work a little better.

I think the issue here is that movement combat was accessible only to a select few people who actually figured out how it worked out, people that claim "movement combat is running away" are most of the time all the people that never knew how to do it themselves.

Same thing goes for movement hits that break all defense, I agree they're strong but honestly you don't need more than a sliver of ability to never be hit mid movement, I'm surprised that there's so much hate against it, as it's basically the only spot where a player can shine on his individual skills rather than his character in this game.

While I'm aware a lot of you fine gentlemen dislike personal skill being worth a damn, and prefer a game where the 24/7 botter wins 100% of the time (mind you this will happen and kill all of you in about 2 months time). I still think you should reconsider the combat nerfs entirely and maybe consult a few of the people who spend the vast majority of last world fighting (something it seems like was not done before the changes).

I'm not trying to condemn the changes I just sincerely don't understand why they were implemented and I feel you could make a lot of changes to combat that would make a character more important without severely crippling everyone else effectively as you just did.

I don't know. I've often thought that numbers should be more important in combat. If 500 guys attack 50 guys, 99/100 times the 500 guys are going to win. The 1 other time the 500 guys are zombies and the 50 guys are every main from a zombie movie. Even peasants were able to kill the royalty unarmed going against heavily armed guards by sheer numbers.

That is true, in this situation you are taking away a group of good but weak character player's ability to take down a titan with a bad player controlling it, while also taking one good players ability to kill a bunch of bad players by himself away somewhat.

So I guess it's a double edged sword.

Edit: Mind you it's still very possible for a group to take down a stronger player, but the fact that they have to rush up and tank his super punches is quite different from last world. I phrased the above a wee bit stupidly.

Hey look a reasonable suggestion and not a list of reasons why a bunch of babies are mad about the nerf of an unintended mechanic.
