Depends. Sometimes it takes a dozen tries, sometimes I catch a fish every time I cast. It's worth noting that I catch big fish more often when it takes many tries. When I get fish every cast, I always get perch/roach/bream.

Huh, they're still biting? I thought they only bite at dawn, so I switched baits. But I returned to wobbler, and caught one on second cast. Thanks. Also, I'm now catching breams with wobblers, and I was catching perch at dawn (it's about 9AM now in-game).

Anyway, what are you using to catch all those salmon?

I'll have to give earthworms a shot, haven't bothered much with them. Perch I catch with just about everything. It them, breams or roaches, depending on time of day and somewhat on bait. I think of them as junk fish.

Has anyone tried moths? I have two in my inventory, but they're male and female and I don't have a breeding stock yet, so I'm kinda reluctant to use them.

I kept switching my lures. Rock Lobster and Woodfish got me loads. I get salmon a lot more using the woodfish. Though I get less at night. I'm also using a bone hook and fibers.

Reading all of this makes me want to secede from Innsmouth and become a fisherman hermit.

But then I'd lose all of my metal access and any decent trading goods.

So, has anyone caught any big fish other than salmon and pike? You don't have to share your technique, I just want to know what fish there are.

For reference, there are currently 9 types of fish implemented.

Whee, gotta catch 'em all!

BTW, why are like half of the fish marine fish? I could suspend my disbelief if I caught them in lakes, but catching them in rivers is really pushing it.

Also, I caught 7 already, and no carp yet. I heard there's sturgeon, which I haven't caught yet, so that leaves just one unknown. I sure hope it's carp.
