And to derail this thread entirely: PMS is actually a societal thing, not biological. They did studies and lied to women about where they were on their cycle after scrambling it with birth control pills. They found the women acted based on what they were told, not where they actually were in the cycle (I'm assuming they didn't do tests on the bits where bleeding is involved).

yeah, i cant remember where i read this but i think while the concept of PMS was around for ages it started to be taken very seriously again just after WW2 when women were being forced out of jobs and back into the home - there needed to be a "scientific" reason women could not do certain jobs as well as men ;)

[edit: just to be clear, i don't actually think that it is totally socially constructed; i think there is evidence for it being biological at least partly. however like many things its pretty hard to disentangle social causes from biological ones, as another example what is considered attractive changes throughout history. Also saying that something is partly sociological does not make it less important i don't think.]

well, this study is probably a little suspect since scrambling your cycle with birth control pills will affect your mood also...

All i know is that pms is often painfull. I can't blame if someone is forever angry when is suffering.

When i bite my tongue, people can't talk me for few minuts or i could punch for the stress. XD
So just imagine five days of pain. I don't think ther's the need of sciense to proof that are really 5 shitty days. XDD

Trolling is a method of fishing where one or more fishing lines, baited with lures or bait fish, are drawn through the water. This may be behind a moving boat, or by slowly winding the line in when fishing from a static position, or even sweeping the line from side-to-side, e.g. when fishing from a jetty

Somehow I like this definition better.

actually, we do call it "釣り/fishing" in japanese.

wait, so trolling in japanese is called "fishing"?

I seem to think the word does originate in the idea of setting out hooks trying to catch enraged internet nerds.

yes. for just devastating threads, we have another word, "荒らし/the act of ruining, devastating, vandalizing" which directs to "Troll" in english wikipedia, but it is more like shit-posting and/or spamming and it covers all kinds of horrible posting acts.

"釣り/fishing" is the act of giving baits to "fish" other posters. so when you say "I got trolled", we say "釣られた/I got fished (up)", and for an obvious trolling, "釣針でかすぎ/the fishing hook is too large".

Back in the ol' Usenet days, we called it fishing (at least the groups I participated in). I don't remember when the term troll got applied. Guess someone started using it so as to not confuse it with phishing. I like troll better because, just like the definition of the fishing technique, you can't just toss bait out, you have to work it to get the best bites.

Women with painful menstruation often have a condition call endometriosis or other gynecological disorders. I only know a bit on this because I have a daughter with painful cramps and my family has a history of late-diagnosed conditions.

As far as "PMS" goes.... Well, we've all seen the stories (if not known someone) that (ab)uses hormones for things like weightlifting and the emotional wreckage that causes.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I steel really feel horrible at the "Discovery" and study of my own curiosity that is my inherit ability to annoy people. Already I recall some fellow forum-goers insulting me lightly for my shortburst of fame. . . I don't like to be renowned anymore. I'd rather hermit for ever in a Stronghold like Overtyped and make cheese or keep coops, even keep bees. Anything but face the torment that comes from what I don't know as I voice out my thoughts. It just doesn't feel right anymore in a community forum like this.

EDIT: oh yes PS. Dan dan da dan! *25k of LP from this first-time troll!* Oh yes it feels good to do everything in my power!
