Well you might want water for easy access to boat around.

... there are shalows in caves. also all shallow lakes in caves are fish nodes no?

I have seen fish jumping in a cave that did not have any shallow. ( I couldn't fill my water bottle.)

In caves there are shallow lakes - they never have fish, in some few deep lakes in caves are fishes - you'll need a boat for fishing, getting water ...

Huh? In our shallow water lake at Brodgar we can catch fish at any time.

I only wish we could have done that in W6, when me and a bunch of guys actually did live purely underground. It was bloody hard to do and fish would have made it easier.

Living underground -should- be hard, otherwise everybody would do it. However I am in favor of a few extra cave goodies for those wanna be goblins and troglodytes.

1. Edible mushrooms. OR, make existing mushrooms edible.
2. Giant toadstool. One toadstool can give you something which functions the same as one block of wood.
3. Bats. Kind of like a flying rabbit. You can grab them out of the air like you might grab a dragon fly or a ladybug. Can be killed in your inventory in exchange for bat meat, and bones.
4. Giant spider webs. Can be harvested for string.

That is about it really. They can all spawn in rarer amounts than their counterparts above ground. And any kind of intensive farming underground should absolutely be out of the question I think.

well, this was suggested several times...

They never said if they like the idea. Anyway i think that live in acave need to be nerfed enough to be a disavantage, or tracking whould be a total pain.
Survive in a cave with few resources avalaible, is cool. Live in a cave with everything, is bad in a game like H&H. (Wonderfull on dwarf fortress)
Just keep in mind this. This game NEED that people go around in the surface.

(Or simple fix the tracking system and let people track others also if in different layers, with more informations on the direction)

Are you sure? Thinking about it, fish don't jump in shallows. Is it possible the node's there and we just didn't realize it?

Like who would actually fish every shallow spot in the 1/50 chance it has a node.

All I know is that fish don't jump in the shallow water in Brodgar cave.. BUT, we can ALWAYS take fish out of it. And that has only been since W7 by the way. I just assumed everybody knew about this...

probably it's just a node in a swallow water. I've fished in deep water out and In a fish node. Ofc fish was only in the fish node.
