The thread start is pretty open-natured. I'm not sure how you determined that those posts were off topic, given that the topic is extremely loosely held in the first place. ;)

Why not? :)

Relative platform independence being the main reason.

Well if you don't have much to say how about a few future images or at least concept art for the masses to ponder over. :)

What about performance issue, did you already found a way to fix that in haven 2.0 and current haven?
