No, it's not. When you needlessly debate a topic you keep it alive far beyond its value. If it has merit it will resonate and even those who oppose your view will at least recognize that. People will be who they are. You can irritate them or you can work with them. Choose those battles wisely.

No for a simple reason: to mod this forum to keep some subforums "healthy and enjoyable" you'd have to be like a doorman, bouncer sometimes i.e. if people go to far you have to speak out a ban sometimes ... i tried doing without for long time and PMming people, but at one point i had to be "drastic", when i took action like moving to Hel, in Plea for Moderation i got attacked and called a retard - i gave a real short ban to that poster to think about it, poster ran whining to jorb who lifted the ban... that's when i got out ...

I've been bouncer in a really well visited clubdisco (which btw. now exsists for over 30 years successfully runned by the same ppl that opened it) where there was no entrance fee for a long time.

There are 2 main rules for bouncers:

1. When one bouncer speaks out a ban to someone , no other bouncer lifts it.
The bouncers might talk about it but only the bouncer that banned lifts the ban.

2. The club owners respects the ban spoken out by a bouncer (even if it's their best friends), they discuss with the bouncer and might persuade him to lift the ban.

To me the HnH forum is somewhat the same with different rooms with different behaviours so everyone knows what to expect and thus can enjoy going in there. We have the Inn and Congress where you might virtually get your Head kicked in and we have HDI, Bugs, WT where ppl search for help and expect serious answers...

But as you can see one of the club owners here seems to have fun in seeing ppl getting their heads kicked in in all rooms - he doesn't want bouncers and that's why i feel wrong for the "job". I better try helping ppl to solve their problems instead of caring about Loudmouthes that go whine at the club owner when a bouncer asked for respect...

As i said before: some things that are going on in forums would have real untasty answers in the streets ... but i guess those that Fuck around on the Internet are the ones that run over the street to the other side very fast when coming across some of those they call retards or worse ...
