Not all of us are 13 year olds who get off on shoving swords into defenseless new players, but there are many of them, and you have to accept it.
They're right, it's not much of a social game but it the best there ever was as far as an engaging sandbox. Best to stay alone or with a few RL friends or plp you know. There are a great many "Mature" players as you call them who are about dedication, those who do like to kill often find a lot more thrill in chasing down griefers for the bigger LP rewards because you are right, a noob with 2 sticks and an apple gets you zero LP..lol It's just about the griefing. Unfortunately, it's likewise just as hard to FIND those "mature dedicated players" because they will just log off or go the other way when they see you...LMAO for fear of the same tired crap. We are here though. I been playing since world one, you just get use to staying quasi-solo behind a brickwall and rebuilding when someone tears it down (After hunting them down and Hearthfire removal of their existence of course)...then it's back to your wall , farm, and occasional hunting/foraging in your happy little lonely world..
See if you can find an abandoned place, maybe with a wall already started or something like that and just move in, get your skills up, wall yourself in and STAY QUIET in your happy place...lol Been doing it since World One...still here almost daily.
