I like the Beth. FO games, but they just aren't Fallout. It's Elder Scrolls in dystopian American.

That said, still probably buy it. Guess I should actually play NV all the way through before release, but unless Beth. has changed their tune, I understand they're pretending like NV never happened. (I hate following news on most of this anymore. Just gets me worked up over nothing... not like it was with something like Magic and I made money on it.)

Bethesda is cancer to me I swore off it after the retardery that was Oblivion but you know goty bestest game ever mods will fix it and all of you fans are a bunch of fucking larpers who wouldn't know a good game if it bit you in the face. Freaking hiking simulator fans.

Maybe one day I will play New Vegas but probably not since it probably references games that do not exists.

I agree that they aren't the same games, that's for sure. However, with the right mods and in Hardcore mode, NV becomes a hell of an experience. I got the extra encounters and the one mod that makes NPC's fight amongst themselves and introduces full scale battles. One of my favorites was sitting up on a mountain ridge as my Sniper Build with Boone and ED-e, watching the NCR and Legion go at it, and taking pot shots at various badass figures amongst them, then there was a showdown between a guy with a Super Sledge and an NCR dude with a machine gun and ton of grenades. That was awesome.
