Chickens running loose are always safe to take. They spawn and de-spawn. Only chickens in coops and containers can be stolen.

Please excuse the direct contradiction and dismissal but: Forget what Avu says. Many players do steal when there is no danger of being traced because the booty is unclaimed, especially hungry newbs who do not have a sense of community yet, but they are in a minority.

Oddly, most of the many, many players I have met do not steal other than to get their first minimum starter seeds if they can't find them wild. There is a big disadvantage to stealing. It doesn't generate any lp. Sensible players don't waste time on it.

Sensibility has nothing to do with it. Ancestor system on the other side does.

Aside of people Doing reply after reply. There's some that do for no reason at all.Others that do steal so they can keep going.Others that don't.Others that do but replace as much as possible.
