Yeah you're right, they probably don't. That is the diff between professional and "playin around". So you're correct.
However, the tired lame second part "get out then" is so echo of the limited intellect ass-kiss, and though they just may be immature enough to agree and shiver and giggle as you flick their fundums with your nose-ring, I rather actually believe they care as much for your ass-kiss and brown-nosers as they do for critics. Most people who have been around for awhile figured that out...hence they brownnose (expecting nothing) or criticize (expecting even less) but at least they get out their vocal masterbations and can rest easy. (All to the "who gives a shit" of the Devs as you illustrated)
In the end the only real diff in motive is that brown-nosing is about the misguided attempt to gain personal favor and a backpat, while a critic actually seeks improvement, and if they didn't care would say nothing. But again, you are right on the first part, and that is why only a moron with a bit too much expendable cash would donate because as you illustrated "they wont be crushed".
