The latter, obviously. What good would 20 inventory slots do? Might as well walk the distance. :)

Dude I am not asking without a reason. *cough* seedbags *cough* ;)

Glad you could join the conversation. A very good question! You will find that it is already being considered.

You should also think about a bigger boat and buoys (like road making but in water).

they already are

The day you remove (short distance) teleportation is the day I will quit the game. That's a promise. There is only *that* much of tedious repetition one can take.

I reckon you want to make trade and travel feel more dangerous. In a game where everyone is able to produce everything by themselves if they put enough effort in it...

So,I can either:
a) Spend 2 hours hauling iron bars to Noobtown and bringing linen back. I gain 0 LP, get to see the same sights for the 20-30th time and risk my life.
or
b) Spend 1 hour harvesting, replanting and processing linen and 1 hour doing something else. I gain tens of thousands of LP.

I see your point, obviously. I love being able to hearth port back home after long expeditions, for example. Having to manually find my way back... I'm not sure that'd be fun. On the other hand I'm not a big fan of teleportation as a concept, and everything that fucks with the location of the dudes causes problems in terms of wall-jumping and all that. We'll see what happens.

All I hear are groundless complaints with no basis in reality what so ever. ;)

So then tell me if you use seedbags when you play (when you have access to chests)? I know that I don't.

That, seriously, looks awesome. Pending Horse graphical fixes and WHAT IS WITH THIS BALDNESS WHEN SITTING DOWN.

Want. Damn setting up long-distance roads would be worth the effort if you could trot along them on one of these. Trade stops along the route etc...

That would be resolved by making resources region based, as has been suggested by myself and others. Then you'd have no choice but to import things. The LP issue would in some ways, hopefully be resolved by the implementation of Wyrd (meeting someone on the road and saying hi while hauling a horse wagon == bonus Wyrd or however that's going to work). I also would like to see dedicated traders. People who do nothing back travel back and forth trading goods along roads while others stay closer to home.

I'll miss popping around town but maybe some sort of Crossroads mechanism that only works within a village would be useful.

I use seedbags all the time. I harvest a 6x6 field into 12 bags. Dump the bags in a chest nearby. Grab the straw / plant fibres and put them in another chest. Plow. go back to chest with bags, open bags and pull out the good seeds into inventory. Plant. grab the rest of the bags into my inventory with the remaining seeds in them. Take them over to my trough, open one, grab a seed and shift-click those fuckers in. Done.

Otherwise I need 3 chests to sort all my seeds which takes up room and also need to be maintained (as opposed to just one chest).

Jeez could you make it more complicated? I just have 3x3 fields with a chest next to them. Done.

I do use them, actually. Three bags allows me to harvest one 3x3 field, which is my standard field size, plus pick up any goods besides the seeds, without clogging up my inventory. After having harvested the field, I simply replant the nine best seeds from the bags.

But what I actually meant to say, though I'm not sure it came across, was: Sure, you might have a point. ;)
