When i started this game, i didn't knew that it was dangerous. I thought that in this game you Build, Explore, Fight beasts and trade with others. SOMETIME there is some griever: "C'mon, murder skill need 100k lp. Only few nerds will have it."

Well, i was wrong. (or i was right and the game is wrong? Devs already know that i hate-love this fucking game, and know what i hate.)
I've worked a lot to guarantee safety to my friends/companions. I was friend of the stroghest man in the game, i was the only one that can speack with everyone whitout being instant-killed. I was the Hope of my friends that we'll never been attacked from evils, and that only randoms thiefs are dangerous.
But sadly i went killed by one of my "protector" in a spring kill (he didn't noticed that i was there.) and after that, nothing happened. Someone avenged me, but nothing more, the game was gone and my town discovered his weakeness.
Weakeness = We aren't nerd.

Honestly that day i felt really low/ungry. My friends and i aren't people that play a game knowing that it is all time lost. Enjoy and be happy while you play, is the most important think, and you'r happy when you feel that your chara and your town is growing. When you know that you can't grow, you can't be safe, you don't know if tommorrow you will play in your town or in a wasteland, we call it TimeLost.

That day i had my "so this is what it feels like". I wasn't the chiefman, but i was the Shield of my village.
What is most important in this game, is play with your friends, and if you take care of your friends, is unevitable that you feel really bad when they are killed or when you die and you cant protect them anymore. Not because this game is drug, but because you play With Your Friends. You play for your friends (in my case), and when your useless for them, this game is useless and ther's no more joy on playing it.

I dunno why are you playing this game, but for me is this. Help my friends and have joy with them.

This was the story of my first dead.

(Now i don't really care of dead, i don't play for joy anymore. I'm just looking what will happen here and if someone wanna build some roads, hoping it will be used one day before the next reset.)

Im not angry anymore or as sad, but lets keep this thread going, has anybody else had an experience like this? oh and thank you guys for throwing some nice condolences in my direction instead of directing me to something else about how to properly protect my village.

Sorry for your emotional turmoil. At least realize that feeling so means you actually "feel" for the game. Many have experienced the same and as another poster said, most quit. The "random noob" citizen who then goes off and steals, bringing death, mayhem and attnetion to your place/location is pretty common. At least it is understandable as opposed to random griefing for no reason. As has been said also, never use gates, build them and put the keys on a never used key-alt for emergencies only. HAve a good wine production and use only 1-way crossposts and idol/HF warps to go in and out of your village. Also try to see how small you can work your village citizenwise...the more you have the more chance of a loose cannon doing things without the permission of the LS, Chieftan or Hirdmen (However you have your chain of command/council set up. At least you can understand the situation and did not experience some total destruction of all your work by a suicide griefer as many have, trust me...if you felt this way over what happened, you'd have felt 100 times worse if you can imagine. It can be a very emotional game, especially for those who really like it and invest a lot of legit time into it. Just hang in there and try try again.
