I'm in Germany now on vacation so I'll keep my eyes peeled for one of those behemoths. Goin from Frankfurt to Munich so who knows. But yeah, you should put that pic on the "new ideas" or whatever part of the forum, that would be great!

Working from memory here - google be damned!

It wasn't the drop in coal supply and demand that rendered the baggers obsolete, it was the nature of the actual coal deposits themselves - from what I recall, the coal the mining company needed to get to was at such a depth that it required an incredible amount of topsoil excavation - it took nearly 20 years of excavation to expose the rich high quality coal deposits.

Krupp designed and built the first series of these monsters.
