Err, you asked if he had stolen, not if he had produced a theft scent. It seems he had done one but not the other. So he didn't lie, just misunderstood your question.

[Edit, frankly if asked that question, I would probably have said "no, just snooped a bit" - but that's mostly because I'm reading threads like this. Otherwise I might well have just said "no," figuring that if you were following a scent you'd follow up with "then how did this theft scent appear around his chest?" or similar. To which the answer would of course have been "because I'm a nosy parker", if that were indeed the case.]

You know, maybe you shouldn't go around taking "the law" into your own hands. I mean, I'm just saying -- you're basically going around killing people just because you can summon them, and that's kind of mean. Sure, sometimes it's justified, but if you don't know the whole story (especially if it's two friends testing game mechanics or something), I can see there being a lot of "accidents". Besides, I know there are certain people I wouldn't mind coming onto my land and snooping through my stuff (and even taking certain nonimportant items from me), as long as they let me know (usually through IRC) -- "Hey man, I went by your house earlier and grabbed some leaves for my silkworms" or "Took your pickaxe because we needed more miners; It'll be in my house if I'm offline and you need it back."

And I'd be pretty pissed if someone killed them for it.

Perhaps you could try contacting the wronged characters first to see if they WERE wronged?

I wont deny that I have my faults, most of which involve misinterpreting and jumping the gun, that said I can see my flaws and work on them every time I hit a wall.

I've said repeatedly, come to a concensus for law amongst the different established towns.
