I love this guy. Thinks he's so damn awesome, smart and all shit. He feels so damn good of himself. Luckily I have never met such a person in real life. I can only imagine how it would be to live with such a person.
He brags so much that it seems that he have made the game, while everything he's done is to run a server with some custom tweaks.

It's incredible that there are people like him, although there is a big possibility that he's just trolling.

Lothaudus wrote:Paying someone else to do it for you is not "taking care of" your server.

Actually, it is. It shows you know the game will succeed, and it keeps players happy.

Well, at least until you run out of money to pay the hosting bill.

OMGANDYLOL wrote:I know H&H may require little to nothing to play it even with 1000 ping because it requires no quick movement, but any other game does need hosting. So again, you're wrong.

So if by that argument H&H "doesn't require hosting", then it's not really an argument, is it? H&H has the right amount of server power it needs and UO requires external hosting by companies who, according to loftar, don't offer much more than what H&H is currently being run on.

OMGANDYLOL wrote:
Lothaudus wrote:Whether or not UO started online sandbox games, doesn't have any bearing on which one is better.

Maybe, but again.. UO still has thousands if not millions of users still playing / joining. H&H has maybe 100-200 people online MAYBE, and they're on the forums more than ingame it seems. So it kinda does mean UO is better.

If millions of users still playing == "better", than World of Warcraft kicks Ultima Online to the curb, makes it squeal like a little girl and then curb stomps it for good measure.

... and yet you aren't setting up your own private WoW server? God, I can't believe you still play such a sucky game with only a few million users when you could be playing WoW. You must suck.

Suck really hard.

OMGANDYLOL wrote:
Lothaudus wrote:Like-wise saying H&H is shit is false because otherwise, no-one would be playing it, would they?

Again, there are more people that play Pacman, Hello kitty, Barbie games, Tetres, Even the most shitest games around have more users.

Wait, are you now flip-flopping your argument and saying that more users doesn't mean the game is better?

Could you make up your mind please?

OMGANDYLOL wrote:This is developed by 2 college kids as a school project based as a web browser.

Have you ever heard of the Unity engine?

OMGANDYLOL wrote:How can anyone "besides you few hundred people who probably go to the same school lol" take this game seriously?

What are we taking seriously now? This is a game. Generally people play games for fun. In H&H's case, we also have a pair of developers who are working on it for fun.

What are you doing your UO server for? Hawt secks with the ladies? Or do you intend to make people pay? I mean, you are "taking this seriously" right?

OMGANDYLOL wrote:Also claiming it to be "its only in alpha" makes no sense after it was for a school project/comp.

Correction: Makes no sense to you as you only have the logical capabilities of a fishstick.

OMGANDYLOL wrote:Not a "hey, lets make a game". If it sucked in the competition, they wouldn't be working on it right now. Games that are serious continue to develop even if they originally suck. You really think these kids are going to continue this game 12 months down the track? i don't.

Okay, now are you saying H&H does or doesn't suck now? On one hand, you say this game sucks because we're apparently "all from the same school" yet now say that if the game originally sucks than it would continue to develop... Which is apparently a good thing... All the while missing the weekly updates which any non-retarded person would view as development.

OMGANDYLOL wrote:
LothaudusL wrote:Trying to argue graphics when both games have graphics that would run on anything built prior to 1996, is asinine.

No, because it clearly shows what graphics are better between UO and This game.

Yeah, H&H graphics are. IDK WTF is up with that weird vertigo angle in UO.

OMGANDYLOL wrote:Again, only fanboys would claim this to be the other way around.. Look at your character, Look at your paperdoll.. Look how the world is developed. Again, people who think this is the best game ever only think this is true.. but if they were forced to play this game over anything currently out there, they seriously have no clue about games. Thus, the "omg i died in a game, wtf rage" threads.

I'm certain you believe you actually make a point in all of this rambling but generally, when you combine several run-on sentences, it typically means you haven't.

"People who think this is the best game ever only think this is true". "but if they were forced to play this game over anything currently out there, they seriously have no clue about games".

Let's have that last one again: "[If people] were forced to play this game over anything else, they seriously have no clue about games".

You can't make this kind of non-sensical shit up.

OMGANDYLOL wrote:Again, if you're creating a decent server, 90% of the scripts are created by the Dev team, not from a download.

So what you're saying is if I took jorb and loftar's graphics and code, spent a month fiddling with how bears re-spawned and how scents were tracked, I'd then get to be a cool kid who can claim "I've built my own a server! OMG look moi!! Look at moi!"

OMGANDYLOL wrote:So unless you have done it before "doubt it" you wouldn't have a clue so give up.. those comments are soo fucking stupid.. It's like saying you're a football coach but you follow dancing.

Pro-tip: Try thinking before typing.

OMGANDYLOL wrote:More oomph than my server? really? i just recently bought a $3400 computer. Im not using it because other than Ram and CPU, a badass computer doesn't really mean shit.

ref: loftar's post about bandwidth:

loftar wrote:Furthermore, it's not like we are particularly inclined to run the server from our homes; we just don't have any good alternative. The hosting company you yourself claim to use, xlhost.com, offers only one solution with more bandwidth than we currently have, and it costs $299 per month for only 5 TB/month. That's quite a bit of money, and even then we only get ever so slightly more bandwidth than we currently have -- 5 TB / (30 * 24 * 3600 seconds) is only about 1.9 MB/s, or less than 16 Mb/s, which is just 60% more than Jorb's connection. For reference, the game server needs about 2-3 kB/s per connected user (on average).

Now, which hosting package did you buy?

OMGANDYLOL wrote:# 1GB DDR2 RAM
# 80GB SATA 3 Gb/s Hard Drive
# 1000GB Transfer
# 100Mbps connection

Like I said, H&H has more oomph. Just to clarify that for you, as you're obviously too dense to get it: If loftar purchased the same hosting package you have, he would be down-grading.

But no, feel free to talk about how low your ping is going to be when you have 200 people online at once.

OMGANDYLOL wrote:The point is, their internet hosting is slow and pathetic, thats my point.

lulz

OMGANDYLOL wrote:We're running a 100mb/s connection from the US with 99.9% uptime, Automatic backups with auto restarts while being watched by the hosts IRL.

Again, you lost.

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about and only purchased the cheapest dedicated server your choice of hosts offered because you're only expecting to have 12 people online at any one time.

Lothaudus wrote:That was after 30 minutes.. we made a better demo website in 30 minutes compared to this one. Just wait until we unlease our finished project with animations etc...

It's 3rd April today. I look forward to it.

One day you might even get around to reading the fine print about that "99.9% uptime" claim.
