The problem is not the laws, it's the corruption. All the legislation in the world doesn't help one bit if the people implementing it are corrupt. It's a problem you can fight only with a pragmatic outlook, not a technical one. But I can't say I'm surprised that someone from Sweden doesn't *get* corruption, because it's virtually non-existent in your country. I've heard tons of stories from our emigrants about exploiting loopholes in your system like crazy, and the Swedes just scratching their heads in bewilderment because they didn't do anything wrong by the book.

Read my first comment about Ron Paul, I said that a big reason for electing him (or at least voting for him) is that he's the only one that's not corrupt. Also, I have lived in the USA so I don't need you teaching me about the country, thank you very much, I seem to know a lot more about how their political system judging from your responses so far. It will be very hard (might even be impossible) for RP to win, that however, is not a reason to not vote for him, if nothing else it will help build a lot of social capital for something a lot bigger than elections.

Also, if RP gets elected he would have the power to call home all troops on day 1.

So you don't think there's any special interest groups that would benefit from a weaker federal government? Say, the corporations that have been lobbying to erode the regulation so they can more easily fuck over their workers and the environment?

And what do you suppose would happen if all troops were suddenly recalled?

Sure there are groups that would benefit from a less intrusive federal government. MS Patients and people with Cancer would benefit because medical marijuana would be a state issue, small business would benefit because there would be less legislation to keep track of and rent-seeking behavior would be much harder for lobbying groups since companies could simply vote with their feet. Minorities would benefit as they would no longer be prosecuted for drug crimes disproportionately. Students would be better off as the federal government wouldn't be able to cripple the educational systems of the states.

Lobbyism always gets worse with a centralized government.

Also, Medicare would be abolished, so old people would die of treatable disease like crazy.

Big business would benefit proportionately more.

Wait, what? Lobbying groups *are* companies.
Minorities would benefit as they would no longer be prosecuted for drug crimes disproportionately.

No, now they'd just be persecuted in their day-to-day lives. I shiver at the thought of what some of the southern states would do without the federal government forcing them to at least pretend to promote equality.
Students would be better off as the federal government wouldn't be able to cripple the educational systems of the states.

Yes, I'm sure Kansas would become a veritable Mecca of scientific learning.

because with a weaker government it wouldn't be needed, they could just do whatever they want.

thats referring to you specifically, not RP

explain to me why you thought posting this horseshit (among other things) was a good idea:

ArvinJA wrote:Lolololoolool, I guess it's cooler to just ignore the tenth amendment and get things such as SOPA, NDAA, The War on Drugs and other infringements to our lives and liberty.

I simply pointed out the importance of the tenth amendment, with a president that respected the tenth amendment SOPA and NDAA would have been vetoed.

in as annoying a manner as you possibly could, hence "obnoxious"

and who wants to discuss this sort of thing with someone that is deliberately obnoxious?

But you can't be in Ron's posse if you don't have a high horse.
