12:14 loftar > I haven't done anything on Haven since Wednesday; I've just been fooling around with a few other things.
12:15 Tonky > oh?
12:15 loftar > Reimplementing some parts of the homepage just for fun and whatnot. :)
12:15 loftar > Nothing you'll actually notice. ;)
12:15 boshaw > speaking of stockpiles will palisades still take 100 wood and be 1 tile in hafen?
12:15 Tonky > are we supposed to receive any email notifications upon changing passwords now?
12:15 Tonky > lol a good question, boshaw
12:16 loftar > Yes, Tonky. That has been the case for a few months by now though, hasn't it?
12:16 loftar > Well, it would be stupid to have them larger than a tile, wouldn't it? :)
12:16 Tonky > yeah, i believe so, i remember btaylor posting about it on the foru
12:16 Tonky > m
12:17 Tonky > you mean
12:17 Tonky > palisade cornerpost would be bigger than 1 tile?
12:17 loftar > Rather, that's what I thought seem a bit stupid. :)
12:17 boshaw > I suppose, I'm just mainly hinting at people using the signpost as a smaller storage than what you had posted which is 2 tiles big i assume.
12:17 loftar > Ah, you mean like that.
12:17 loftar > No, the signposts simply won't store any items.
12:18 loftar > It will take them directly from your inventory and/or nearby storepiles when you build them.
12:18 Tonky > :o
12:18 boshaw > Oh that's an neat system. What will be the radius on the distance to storepiles be?
12:18 loftar > You think I've planned the radius in exact units? :)
12:19 boshaw > Maybe :D
12:19 loftar > Those wood piles were just 1 tile, though.
12:19 loftar > The branch stockpile is even smaller.
12:19 Tonky > just 2 stockpiles on the pic, i assume
12:19 boshaw > Oh
12:19 loftar > Three, actually. :)
12:19 Tonky > and one branch pile
12:19 Tonky > oh?
12:19 boshaw > I assumed that was just one pile alone.
12:19 loftar > Ah, no, sorry. I hadn't made the third one on the shot.
12:20 loftar > No, those are two piles next to each other.
12:20 Tonky > Tonky is always right!
12:20 boshaw > awesome, no longer needing to scroll things in and just using a storepile sounds really nice
12:21 loftar > Well, you'll still have to scroll things into the stockpile, though. ;)
12:21 Tonky > but i assume you need to scroll things into the stockpiles first :v
12:21 Tonky > ah
12:21 DDDsDD999 > hi putin babby
12:21 boshaw > yeah, but that's much easier than say scrolling into tons of wall segments for instance.
12:21 boshaw > hi DDDsDD999
12:21 loftar > http://www.dolda2000.com/~fredrik/images/ch/putin-2
12:21 loftar > Is it? How?
12:22 Tonky > its been long since you stopped using putin name
12:22 loftar > Isn't it like exactly the same? :)
12:22 boshaw > I guess you could say the net goal is the same
12:23 Tonky > well, but right now, you in general make sighposts to stock blocks, prepare a real cornerpost, and then transfer all blocks into the one you want to build
12:23 boshaw > however, depending on how large the radius on storepiles is, it could make building long walls much easier since you don't have to run back and forth so much for inventory space
12:23 Tonky > i wonder if walls prevent transferring from stockpiles ;)
12:23 loftar > Ah, well, I wasn't planning on the radius being like tens of tiles.
12:24 Tonky > but at least there are like 3-5 at least? as you call it "radius"
12:24 loftar > It was actually boshaw who introduced the term "radius". I just said "nearby". :)
12:25 boshaw > heh
12:25 Tonky > what happens if there is a wall between the stockpile and the wall segment
12:25 loftar > It's not impossible that the "radius" will be small enough not to allow that.
12:25 Tonky > like, i would like to stock my bricks inside walls
12:25 loftar > Precisely in order to avoid such problems.
12:26 Tonky > and i want to transfer bricks into another stockpile outside the wall
12:26 Tonky > or build a brickwall cornerpost outside the wall
12:26 loftar > Well, it won't be an item teleportation system. ;)
12:26 Tonky > would i still need to run back and forth?
12:26 Tonky > :( okay
12:27 loftar > It seems to me that would just be troublesome anyway, since you wouldn't know which stockpiles that items would be taken from. ;)
12:27 loftar > >yfw it takes from your high-quality iron stockpile when building a wall ^^
12:27 boshaw > lol
12:27 Tonky > lol
12:28 Tonky > i wouldnt put high quality iron in a stockpile though ;)
12:28 loftar > Why not?
12:28 Tonky > rather store in cupboards inside a house :o
12:28 loftar > Well, there's nothing to say stockpiles can't be indoors. :)
12:28 Tonky > oh?
12:28 boshaw > storepiles for food making materials would be nice
12:29 Tonky > flour!
12:29 loftar > Though, it seems fair to say that if construction projects are going to be able to take items directly from stockpiles anyway, it seems reasonable for them to be able to take from containers as well.
12:29 boshaw > indeed
12:29 loftar > So you could conceivably just carry a large chest directly to the construction site and build directly from it.
12:29 boshaw > or even salem's system where you can store them in barrels.
12:29 Tonky > building from chests sounds nice too
12:29 loftar > Well, we aren't going to make storepiles for every item in the game, mind you.
12:29 loftar > Mainly just for things that are usually stored in bulk as they are.
12:30 loftar > Let's say, for the kind of items that there currently are blueprints storing a whole lot of.
12:30 Tonky > such as?
12:30 Tonky > blocks, branches, bricks, iron bars... and?
12:31 Tonky > would iron bars get rusty when placed outside?
12:31 boshaw > hhe
12:31 loftar > Well, it's not like we've planned every stockpile in advance. ;)
12:31 loftar > But apart from blocks and branches that already exist, I'd imagine at least boards, stones and bricks.
12:31 Tonky > would love storepiles for boards for sure
12:32 loftar > Apart from those, I guess it will be whatever jorb feels like making graphics for. :)
12:32 Tonky > ha ha
12:33 Tonky > id love some storepiles for dreams too, loftar
12:33 loftar > Haha, lol :)
12:33 Tonky > it should actually motivate jorb to draw something absurd
12:36 loftar > Maybe :)
12:36 loftar > He might also say something like dreams being precious snowflakes which can't be mass-stored. ^^
12:36 Tonky > awwww
12:36 Tonky > Beanieman! i need your direct word!

Yes! Some kind of device that stores the materials on a flat plane of wood, with walls for stability. It could be mounted on two wheels and propelled and stabilized by having a person hold it via handles on the front!
Boofing and gumping it all damn day. Shoutout to my homeboy Moloch

Haystacks would be more appropriate for the period, plus we could have a needle curio in them
