my understanding from skimming the thread is that you are requesting an arbitrary gameplay change based on your death without considering whether it would be balanced or appropriate

yes/no/maybe?

My position is that it favors non-pvp.That means it is balanced against pvp.

A tower would be more accurate of using an offensive wall.

I'm not sure what you are asking, but I think you are suggesting that walls are offensive as well as defensive which means that buffing the defense would create an imbalance.

(Also, you should stop editing your posts so much - it's confusing)

Yes. For example, some raiders build a ram outside your place and wall it off so it cannot be destroyed as easily. You log on and notice the ram has dried, and the raiders are ramming in to your village. Your archer takes aim, and fires at the enemy.

Thanks to the latest update, his arrow hits the wall. You and your village die.

Not disagreeing because that makes sense. The entire system is flawed.

You do make fair points at times but you surely know how to be an obstinate dick about it.
But yes, it is quite fair to say that how villages, walls, and siege are handled needs to be revised. Whether the new system will solve all of these problems we'll see, I think it's also fair to say that it'll be highly experimental when that's introduced. A lot of this is a big learning experience for both players and devs alike.

They potentially can. Things can be botted, it's not impossible and there is something of a stigma against them. That said, they're not as damning and overwhelming as they were in previous worlds.

That said it's rather lame and quite the affront to the spirit of the game to just bot it. I think this about almost all games though so I come in with my own bias. When it comes to the end of the day, it just increases availability to newer players and makes it that much more justified to auto-aggro and kill harvesting bots. It's a race to who came make the other side more justified in their abuse of current mechanics.

My problem with it I guess is that I think it *can* destroy the social side of the game. Of course some things would be nicer if they were automated, but at the moment botting could make it possible to run a fully functioning village with rather little effort for one person, which like you said, for me is quite an affront to the spirit of the game. I do understand that they are not as awfully overpowered as they used to be.

(IMO when development on H&H starts up again it would be great if they revamped some of the boring/repetitive/meaningless tasks with gameplay that requires some sort of meaningful decision making. For example having farming be more complex - breeding for various different traits or something (like livestock), but this is a different matter I guess. And it would be nice if they made a few things a bit automated, like harvesting for example. Would be nice to be able to harvest a "field" until your inventory is full, at the very least.)

However when you get people saying this

Jester87 wrote:All I did was modify the existing code that stacks them since I am just creating a bunch of newbie characters to deforest the entire map. I'll be working on more complicated scripts when I have the time to learn more about the language. I just thought it'd be funny when there are no more trees for newbies.

its rather depressing, tbh.

Although now that I have actually looked at his "tutorial", I'm rather less worried about the whole thing.

Oh man, I can't really say much because I promised not to and I really do stick to my word but but -- you will love the updates in Salem if and when they are brought back into HnH. Just a lot of the ideas that you will enjoy, I swear it.
