Not saying i don't believe you but it's probably also true that many non goons quit soon after spawning at the RoB.
The ones who see things differently.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

Well i just explained what he meant. But honestly, it seems like you live in a bubble if you think all new people are goons. Although you seem to contradict yourself when you mentioned "anyone who's really new".
With harm i mostly mean being unable to leave character creation area thanks to a claim or being walled in at the RoB.

"Anyone who's really new" = new player, as opposed to someone making an alt

An old player making a new character is not new, and will not be affected or driven from the game because someone's being a douche on the ring of brodgar. A new player making a new character WILL be more affected by people fucking with the newbie area. However, all the new players I've asked so far have said they were from SA (regardless of if they actually were or not, admittedly, since I hardly check), which basically gets them into the not-very-secret newbie support club we've got going on in IRC, where they can ask questions like "why can't I move" or "who keeps hitting me" or something, and having someone to talk to who will explain that it's a temporary situation and how to get around it or whatever will prevent them from giving up and quitting.

And, yeah, most new people are goons. How many newbies have you had in the last day? Yesterday we had like 5 newbies join us or something (random guess; sounds about right).

(Non goons quit before getting out of the spawn point because the controls suck and are counterintuitive and the game's not nearly good enough at first glance to be worth 30 minutes of "how do I move".)

I must have been lucky yesterday, nothing was going on around the RoB when I started out. Walked west quite a ways and am currently getting tired of isolation.

That being said, hello community, carry on with your bickering.

I've had 3 newbies join Laketown this week of which one was a goon lurker that didn't want to deal with goons. 2 other newbies (non goon) settles last week just outside laketown and this week (sunday now) they were joined by another non goon newbie.

Maybe it's just me but to me the GUI and controls seem fine. Most games that use a mouse to walk seem to use left click to walk and right to interact. Atleast the ones i played did.

They do, but the problem is both the implementation of that and the window management. It's very annoying and picky.
