Damn, this is what I'm talkin about!
I can tell you are much into ol'sql shit =p
I'll try to reply with a track to each paragraph hoping this will get you into the topic =D

Mr. Lif, I don't rly know his work too well, I can just recall one track I rly liked:
Home of the Brave - this piece carries a message \=)

Rakim... Shame to admit, I never rly got to decent listening to his albums, just know couple of random tracks but instead of posting the most favouritte of them I'll make it into a little riddle for you =D

Ultramagnetic MC's and Kool Keith... Damn, I'm pretty sure I got some tracks sitting on my YouTube channel, just can't find em =p But again, haven't rly listened to this =)

Ugly Duckling. When I heard this track it immidietly rang a bell. I know there's a very similar track, it's walking round my head, I just can't get it out of there =p
Then I recalled this Bliss'n'Eso track, it is also kinda similar =p

Wu ... Uh... Damn, there's just too much of their shit for anybody to know all of it =D I'll just post some of my favs and let's just let it go =D They would need a separate thread ^^
Rush
Do it, do it
Round and round
Woodchuck
Symphony 2000
Seriously, those guys made soo much fukin music that one minute you think of couple favs, the next minute you forget all and recall a whole new set of favs lol
Rockwilder, How high, The Jump Off, Gravel Pit, Triumph, Reunited, aaaaaarhhhh my head ...! It hurts! ^^

MF-Doom... Oh boy, here we go again =D
I doubt I have heard even 5% of his shit, yet it's still too much to recall =p And his various nicknames doesn't make it any easier =p
Mr. Clean
Sofa King
Space Ho's
Korn Dogz
Bada Bing
Rap Game
Rock Co Kane Flow

Madlib
Whenimonthemic
This is another legend I haven't got myself familiar with, shame to admit, again ><

Abdominal - haven't heard of him probably. On track you linked there's also D-Sisive, I only heard one track of that guy while I was checkin out what Canada is up to =p

Nujabes and Shing02 just ain't my type. I prefer - how to say... - beats that kick you out of your shoes and those are the morelike melt down on a chair type. And I have no clue who produced it, have you tried to just google it?

Hilltop Hoods! =D Man, these guys were gifted to me in same topic I started on forum of different game I was playing and the guy only posted Nosebleed Section track. IIRC they had only 2 albums back then and soon after I discovered them they released Hard Road Restrung which was fuckin awsome! =D Especialy live vids, it's just art and poetry ^^ I still haven't checked out the 2010 album, dunno even why Oo

Drapht, yeah, heard couple of his tracks too, these are my favs:
Sylla Sqad
Drink, drank, drunk ^^

Muph'n'Plutonic, yep, heard them asweel, except Heaps Good you already posted a like Beautiful Ugly a lot =)

Butterfingers is new to me, didn't rly like the track you posted eventho it actualy is funny ^^ But I clicked out Nothing much happens and it is already sitting on my YT channel =p Gonna listen to more later =)

And to keep this topic going I'd like to ask for particular tracks over beats containing some real instruments, like pianos, violins guitars, flutes trumpets and whatnot =p
Couple I can think of atm:
"The Eye of a Needle" by Pace Won and Mr. Green
Aim - Let The Funk Ride Maybe I do like tracks that make you malt down on chair =p
BIG PUN - DEEP COVER "TWINS" ( DARKSHADEZ REMIX ) fukin ill remix, I even dare to say it's better than original...

Damn, this post took me whole afternoon =D Shitload of fun

yes, yes, yes!
Pace won/Mr.Green...awesome, same with Aim
And yeh i hadn't heard those first 3 wu-tang tracks, pretty good.

Yeh the Hard Road Restrung was great :D If you want to check out the 2010 album State of the art you can...but its honestly not as good as their previous stuff.

First thing that popped into my mind when you wanted beats with real instruments was Clutchy Hopkins (yet another "melt in your chair" kinda guy). Ill just post a small bio and a couple of tracks:

Clutchy Hopkins is a multi-instrumentalist who recorded under various pseudonyms throughout his entire musical career; his recorded output consists of everything from field recordings of his travels to avant compositions, to jazz to funk. These recordings were up to this point unknown to the public. His father had been a recording engineer for Motown bands and had taught him intricate recording techniques when he was just a young boy. This knowledge Clutchy used to his advantage during his travels, working in recording studios from Bombay to Cairo. The information we gathered of him was from a small biographical manuscript that was found with his recordings under the care of a Mohave shaman who was a descendant of the Cahuilla Indian tribe who Clutchy had studied under. In this autobiography we find the writings of a musical gypsy who traveled the world investigating consciousness and its relation to music.

When Clutchy was just 20 years old he traveled to the Far East and was under the tutelage of Rinzai Zen monks in Japan for many years investigating silence and the rhythms of silence in music. Later, he studied Raja Yoga in India to master and articulate the movements of the body and its relation to sound. In his autobiography Clutchy relates his fascination with drums and their effect on consciousness so he decided to travel to Lagos, Nigeria to study with a master percussionist by the name Oba-lu-Funke. During his stay there he became a political revolutionary and gun-runner, and staged rebel missions to fight the oppressive government and its policies of Apartheid. During his intensive studies and travels, Clutchy was constantly recording music.

When he returned to the US Clutchy used his recording techniques to produce his own music and create instruments of his own. He has played with many groups primarily in the jazz, funk, avant setting. During his recording with other musicians Clutchy refused to contribute his name to the recordings, preferring to use a pseudonym or no name at all. He was purportedly good friends with Moondog and did some recordings with him; these recordings are yet to be found. His recordings span from the early 70s to the late 90s covering a whole spectrum of musical styles. After these recordings came to the surface, we have tried to contact the original source where these recordings were found unfortunately that source has since died. It is said by locals who knew him that Clutchy Hopkins returned to the Mojave Desert to finish his life out living in an underground cave; no one has heard from him since.

If that didn't intrigue you here's the tracks:

And if that completely believable biography didn't sit quite right with you; Clutchy is rumored to be a number of people including Cut Chemist, DJ Shadow, Money Mark and others.

You bitches talking about mainstream versus underground and not a one of you mentions Geto Boys?

Fucking Christ people. THAT is what rap is about. 'Mainstream' is shit because it forgot the whole fucking reason they're rapping. Bling and bitches are the same shit that rap started protesting. But they 'sold out' by making themselves SLAVES to the media industry and promoting such shit instead of remembering what the practice of speaking poetry was begun for: That we not forgot the stories and suffering of our bretheren.
Well what is this that I can't see
