I skipped to about 1:20 or something and saw one of them doing pull-ups over absolutely nothing and I was nearly sick. DNW.

Screw that, see the flying man:

Also a few nice quotes from Terry Pratchett books :D

"Don't you get scared of heights?" he managed to say.
Twoflower looked down at the tiny landscape, mottled with cloud shadows. The thought of fear hadn't actually occurred to him.

"No," he said. "Why should I? You're just as dead if you fall from forty feet as you are from four thousand fathoms, that's what I say."

And my favorite one:

... falling isn't so bad, you know. It's only the landing that hurts..

I wonder where that urge comes from... I get it to and not in a suicidal way

This, wtf is this. Me too. I mean the video and the picture give me the fucking willies but I dig that shit. It's truly weird, as if theres a deep part of our consciousness that believes we can fly.

Beats me, but it's pretty common.

The Darwin Awards come to mind.
Doesn't a fear have to be irrational, intense and persistent* in order to be a phobia?
There is nothing persistent about an intense and irrational behaviour around heights, so I cannot see how aversion to height can ever be a phobia?

*thank you, wikipedia

EDIT: I did not notice the parachute looking for the invisible string - at least he has no aversion to heights.

Persistency depends on exposure. If it is persistent in that you experience it whenever exposed to the trigger, then yes, I suspect that it is persistent enough to warrant being called a 'phobia'.

As for the impulses, I get near-uncontrollable impulses to open car doors whilst being driven. I actually have to lock the door to make sure I don't open it. x_x
