I love this idea and would love to be a guard and eventually perhaps fight once.

It's great to see someone going through with this despite the hard parts of getting something like it setup.

The fact that it is not sparring makes it too risky for contestants unless they are premade alts that are given to each matcher for each match and fought as equal stats.

well maybe there are others that are more reckless.

I'd probably pay to come watch, depends on the price though. I wouldn't want to actually fight though.

i dont think id pay to watch, maybe once.
if u want to see fights for life and death, do it like they did in rome, next time u raid a village take some prisoners, make them fight, survivor gets to walk away (if the watchers dont give the thumbs down, of course, because thats when u let the bears in)!

Capturing people and forcing them to fight will never work with current mechanics and mechanics to make it work shouldn't be implemented.

Sadly they'd never work anyway unless the character was really strong ^ ^;

I'm kinda against the whole non-spar fight. Just see if loftar can code in some 'you win' sprite that pops up after a spar.

well if they were in an arena together, there's nothing stopping one of them from just turning on crim acts and killing the other dude anyway, even though they are supposed to spar.
So they might as well knock each other out for real. there has to be trust there anyway.

I'd happily come to this, security would be
a fun job and fighting in the arena with a
team of friends would be epic.

Oh I'm well aware that you're in danger either way but it's pretty easy to accidentally kill someone if they're a bit weaker than they said or if you're stronger than you said.

Also any marksman (assuming we allow them) has a good chance of killing most people with low AGI/CON.
