The ants will kill you with no problem though, so if you have hunting, be prepared.

You can raid with foraging, you don't need hunting.

The guards don't aggro if you don't have hunting either.



well, it's like this.... world 4 started and foraging was enough then the server went down and came back after a while and then raiding wasn't possible anymore until I got my hunting skill.

I've found that animals general won't populate around your cabins, but seem quite easy to find if you hop into a boat or whatever and go roaming.

Keep in mind, I'm a noob, so I don't know if this is normal, but the 1 day I played pre-wipe I saw rabbits everywhere. Now I have to drop a basket of apples or something into a boat and prepare for a trek just to get a few pelts. I honestly think it's kinda fun this way, every excursion seems important and unknown.

Now if I could just get people to stop stealing my shit, I'd be loving this.

Alright. After the reset today at about 1:30 am est, I have found that I cannot get near rabbits without them running off. It's not that I'm entering combat with them, they simply seem to have a buffer zone that if it's entered, it hops a few tiles away. No longer can I just pick them up and wring necks.

No more easy meals for me I suppose...

Just noticed a new item... Candleberries! At least, I think they're new. I'm a bit of a noob so maybe I just never saw them before, but there's no mention of them on the wiki. You can make "candleberry wax" from them. I think you need plant lore at the least to see the recipe, but it's under Craft -> Potions & Herbs.
