I think what would be best if everyone got their inventory and equipment set to the same thing, being what a character would get from the start-up chest. I also love the idea of item quality, it allows for lots of item variation on top of any items implemented.

This really.

That's what I was thinking, too. That way you could keep one or two precious tools, and skilled players would be given a small reward for their dedication, since they get to keep any nice clothes or armor. Of course, alt vaults would be worthless, since you could only take like two or three useful things per alt.

It's all moot if items need to be wiped, of course.
Surprise.

I Like the idea of losing everything bar skills, puts people on an equal plane pretty much.
Keeping the skills the same allows the veterans to easily get back the gear they have lost and generally have an advantage. :D

No, if you reset everything, I will leave. What was the point of working hard if all this will be reset?

I say reset everything except skills. I can deal with losing my items and what I've built because they can be rebuilt pretty easily enough. Skills are different though. I know people that've been doing constant LP grinding for days just to get up to Lawspeaking or Rage.

I for one envision a different idea about the fate of our characters upon the impending map reset.

All characters would start in a complete clean slate, only retaining their names. Over the course of time, if they manage to earn at least half the LP of their previous record, they will "unlock" their previous pre-map reset character.

I can honestly say if you were to wipe the characters, me and quite a few people I know will stop playing. Just wipe the map and inventories and let players keep their equipped gear and stats.
