Jackard asked
a flash of white on green
thats how I flee the scene.
the common cold answered dragonfly
+1 common cold

common cold asked
I am only one color, but not one size,
Though I'm chained to the earth, I can easily fly,
I am present in sun, but not in rain,
I do no harm, I feel no pain.
What am I?
TonkyHonk answered shadow

AND

I split like bacon,
I am made with an egg,
I have plenty of backbone, but lack a good leg,
I peel layers like onions, but still remain whole,
I am long like a flagpole, yet fit in a hole,
What am I?
cobaltjones answered a snake

DaMaGe asked
I move through the air, I soar through the sky.
You might be surprised, but I don't actually fly.
Though many guesses may go astray,
you'll find yourself surrounded by me,
every day.
Jackard answered sunlight
+1 Jackard

AND

What force and strength cannot get through,
I with a gentle touch can do,
And many in the street would stand,
Were I not a friend at hand.
[currently unanswered]

Ive heard your unanswered riddle before DaMaGe, I just cant remember the answer.

another of my own, also another very easy one. in fact its stupidly easy XD
Man walks over
Man walks under
In times of war he burns asunder

@cobalt.
Its not stupid, that is the point of most riddles, to get you thinking in the wrong direction, so that when you guess or are given the answer, you go "oh! well that's quite clever." it adds to the good feeling when you actually get it right. asking and guessing riddles can be very good for ones self esteem as well. asking a riddle that takes people awhile to answer, or guessing a tough one can make you feel smart. ;)

Saltmummy Common cold already answered DaMaGe's riddle.

And i will add this riddle if it's ok

I have a mouth but never speak
i have a bed but never sleep
what am I

here is a longer one

A spy has been captured by a king. The king wants to appear just and fair to his people offers the captured spy a chance. On the day of the spy's execution the king will put two marbles in a bag one black and one white, if the spy draws the white marble he is free if he draws the black marble he is decapitated. The king however has other plans instead of putting a black marble and a white marble he puts two black marbles in the bag hoping to ensure the spy is killed. One of the spy's contacts informs him of the kings plot. At the trial the spy does something that forces the king to let him go. What did he do?

At the trial, he asks for the stone he draws to be the sentence he won't get.

He draws both marbles at once? Or he asks the king to show him the other marble after he got a black one? So many possibilities here since there are no restrictions on what the spy can and cannot do, or what the king will or will not do.

We'll wait a while to see if sunlight actually is the correct answer, but if it is then that particular riddle isn't that clever at all. There's nothing about it that makes me go "Oh! I get it now!", just "Yeah, I guess that works."

Most of the riddles posted in this thread are fine, it's just that particular one that's really vague and open to everything. Perhaps the answer is something else which upon seeing something will click, but as of right now it's pretty bad.

If he uncovers the king's treacherous move, he may get a point with the people, but odds are he will still get executed.
He has to give the king a clean getaway.

did he pour some paint in the bag? so the marble he takes will be neither white nor black:P

some clarifications.
The spy does something that the king couldn't disprove without admitting to putting to black marbles in the bag. If the spy showed both marbles the king could accuse him of planting them there. He is also at a trial and it's asumed he couldn't bring any items (paint for example) with him.

@tonkyhonk that is incorrect
