Game sucks, don't buy. It's fun, content won't last more than 4 days though, deal with it.
Once you go through content almost no replayability. 3-4 bosses, 2~ events (that aren't hard), no difficulty, no platforming action though they claim it.

Overall it's `Meh`, nothing to live up even close to it's hype. They practice underhanded marketing techniques, their 'public face' (Blue) is a douchebag, a faggot and knows nothing of his own game, often giving bad advice to players with serious issues.

Overall: C -

This is not the first indie game to promise continua support and they WON'T go through with it:

Minecraft - updates weekly, usually twice a week that were meaningful and added a lot, promised to continue this. Updates now about once every month, every two months, constant talk of leaving Minecraft for another project.

Magicka - Promises of weekly updates, first week sees daily updates, they release one free map then move to `DLC` (Not free)

Terraria - Due out June originally, leaked early then `moved up`, with bad code (Fixed in a recent patch some of it), frequent bugs, terrrrrrible systems, TERRRRRIBLEEEE GRAPHICS( PFFFTHAHHA SO BAD), no balanced, changed shit around and made some worse (30 pots a slot? pffthahaha)
Very little content (as stated play throgh in 4 days if you play to elongate it as much as possible).

Play through Small map solo: Content finished in around 6 hours.
Play through Large map w/ 9 players: Maybe can last 4-5 days.
Hardcoded limit actually REDUCED from alpha (9) to 5, there's no way to easily upgrade this limit (on just the server, both server and client have to be updated to reflect it I believe).

They got so many problems, I wouldn't be surprised if a bitch is one too.

4 days worth of content for 10 euro sounds decent enough to me.

Seeing all the content is one thing, finding different ways to use that content is another. A game is only as fun as you make it.

The game is fun, but they really need to add a lot more content.
I got endgame stuff in a day counting the hours I slept (7 hours >.>)
I'd love to see more random events and more bosses, hopefully the new areas add some of these.

I meant if the defense stacks?

I would like to see that. Apparently I suck, but I have been playing for 3 days now, each day around 2-3 hours. I just got started with some endgame content, but am nowhere near finishing everything. Above that there is also the challenge of building nice structures and such. Some people like doing these kinds of things.

Of course the game is far from perfect and could use alot of additional stuff to play around with. The graphics I like, no I love in general (as someone growing up with SNES RPGs). The latest changes of the equipment are for the worse though, I have to admit that. Still I think overall it kinda does live up to the hype and provides quite some hours of very addictive gameplay. Not to mention the additional fun you can get from multiplayer, common projects and so on.

I have a question, actually. Is the game world in Terraria static? Meaning, if you were to quit and come back would everything be the same way you left it? How does this apply to multiplayer?

Yes. Upon starting the game you create a world which is mostly randomly generated. Afterwards, the land, everything you build/destroy and all chests/jars are all static. With singleplayer you have to save before quitting obviously so that's how that works.

How does this apply to multiplayer?

World is saved server side in intervals but the above applies.
