Alright, I'm heading out.

When I first joined Bottleneck things were nice. I helped expand the fields and baking industries. We were working together to accomplish goals. Stockpiles were organized and resources were collected into said stockpiles. All skills not involving murder and trespassing were learned. There were some fox scares, but I survived.

Then the whole Shockedfrog drama happened. Trees vital to industries I'm engaged in were chopped down. Stockpiles full of objects I worked hard on disappeared. Baskets, organized to make storing easier were gone. Now the community is forced to take security measures that are in no way shape or form capable of holding back anybody. Seriously, there are no security measures in this game. Land claims can be walked through for a small health penalty, you can dress as another and pass as them because the game lacks the detail to get away without showing names. Fences of baskets can be moved in an instant, and drying racks still need to have an opening to enter and leave, an entrance which no game mechanics can protect and yet still allow for a community.

So I'm going to where trolls and griefers don't have so much attention. Perhaps to the lakeside settlement. Perhaps just some grove of trees closer to the inner circles that I could settle in. Heck, I might just wander about for a good amount of time. But as it stands:
Bottleneck is no longer fun, and the game mechanics lack the ability to keep it fun. So until the game has better security for communities like ours, I'm a drifter.

There are ways to cut down on griefing, but they're a bit of a pain.

most effective is to build a 2 strong wall of unburnt fires with a gap where it is only 1 thick. burning the fire gives you entry, takes 20 minutes to enter, so you can watch for unauthorised access.

only really worth doing for high value items like steel. not worth doing for apple trees where easy access is the point.

Maybe worth it for leather, but probably not

If you're talking about that bread, it wasn't stolen, I took it to the mine.

I'm part-time at Bay12, part-time in my own vacation house somewhere in Mordor now.

We're actually planning on doing something like this to protect Bottleneck. But it will be a good deal grander. And, we think it's worth doing it for the whole town! Muhahaha! :D
The grumpiest tree you ever did see.

Character: Hamel, previously Chieftain of Ancient Bottleneck, a founding father of the Confederation of Bottleneck. Currently a hibernating soul.
