Hazzor is a "Lets play" youtuber. He should be supporting his fellow revival's not trying to crush em, it's how you gain real respect.

That being said it'd be really nice to have the front updated. Sadly it wont happen till loaftar does his HnH overhual that he's been working on.

hey that's not very nice, and not what i was getting at, i don't think i'm better than all others, but i know i'm better than a lot, sorry but half of youtube, particularly let's plays, are beyond terrible and painful to watch, something like 50 hours are uploaded to youtube every hour, it can't all be good. lets plays get a particularly bad rap because bigger youtubers think it's lazy, i can understand that considering tobyturner can film 5 (ten minute) episodes of something, throw it into premiere pro and upload them all and watch the ad revenue roll in, whilst they work hard at editing and don't get as many views, or equal.

don't look down so much on "lets play" youtubers, it's what i chose to do, i was going to make reviews (and very occasionally do on a seperate channel) but there's no point considering everyone just adds ign to their search and looks for that instead. people watch lets plays for a personality, enough of that anyway i could write an essay on it...

I'm not sure what you mean by i should be supporting my fellow revivals, but i guess you mean i should be nice to my competitors, umm... should I? I disagree, but that said i wasn't trying to crush them, nor do i try to crush anyone, but i'm hardly going to say, "sure, go ahead and make a bad trailer that no one will like" am I? I think if anything that'd just be mean...

If i try my hand at this again it won't be for a long time, an i'll try make a better effort, but to be honest with the game in it's current state it's near impossible to represent it whilst having to edit around lag spikes and bug abuse because no one wants to see that... as maze said, it's hardly going to be updated on the front page anyway, at least not unless it's truly spectacular anyway

Haven and Hearth is a hard game to film and get people to understand. It is a slow game for the most part with almost no ambiance and truth be told if it was not for the occasional ninja boar or the permadeath you might as well be recording farmvill for all the excitement that actually happens. And lets not forget that while the art is really quite stunning for sprites on the whole it doesn't really work for youtube simply because you either have to zoom right into what you are trying to record and thus not able to see the menus or have it up in full and let people struggle to see what it is you are doing. You also have to have a very compelling youtube personality to keep people coming back to a lets play of H&H. Truth is if you want to start out trying to make videos for Youtube - especially LP's - your best bet is something like Minecraft, maybe with a few Mods on. H&H will only kill any enthusiasm you might have to make videos.

Except this isn't for youtube. This is for the HnH home page, so it SHOULD show a lot of newbie activities as well as some more advanced stuff. I think Hazzor was on the right track with his last one.

I will agree that a good personality and commentary on a video make it much more entertaining. After all America's Funniest Videos (and similar shows around the world) has been running for 20+ years, not because of the cutesy home videos (we can get those on youtube now), but because of the hilarious color commentary. That and I think we all like to see people win prizes.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I agree that Hazzor was on the right track with his last trailer work. could add to it to include tasks like hunting and construction. mining etc...then even tour a city or 2... tossing in some screenshots (maybe a few humorous ones) and some siege video or group combat...

let the video progress like in the manner that a toon or a village progresses...

just some ideas...

for the record, i'm very tempted to go with the tagline " live with it" or, "it's perma-death, get used to it". or perhaps "everything can kill you"

0.0 it's hard to make anything like this well whilst pleasing both the later game players and the newer players (especially since my main just died recently)

send me battle footage if you have any, would appreciate it

I will say im still working on my trailer (to help push Hazzor - I know i work better with competition) Might shot some battle footage your way to ;)

I think a tag line more like: "Dying is easy, living is the challenge" or "Life means more when you die for it"

i made something for fun in my break from college today, it's a little 2 minute video, sort of showing the perspective of a noob and some of the things they must feel when they first play Hnh, not my trailer, just some fun
