we all have to wait and see. not everything is set in stone at this date, either, i believe.
devs are working hard to make it fun and that is exactly why we cant have decent fixes to our current HnH issues.
giving pessimistic opinions over something unknown does not help nor do any good at all imo.
you may like it, who knows. you will find it out yourself when you get to play it, hopefully soon.

There's a vague difference between a very dedicated player and a bot, so you can't reprimand bot behaviour.

I much prefer the previous system, to be honest. Nothing wrong with this one, I just preferred getting LP for everything I did. Much more rewarding system - now people rarely have a reason to leave their walls.

Ah, good times picking up every taproot and nettle I find, dropping it on the floor and looking for the next one.

I admit it got a bit silly, though, when I was smashing out +72LP(sic) for ever mining hit on a wall, and kicking out 3-4 hits a second.

It's a great idea, but I don't think the devs have any ideas in that regard. Although jorb once said (a long time ago) that that they would like to

Of course games shouldn't be boring, but you have to look at the kind of game that this is. It's an mmo with heavy death penalties and a focus on crafting/building. Battlefield 3 it is not. Why should we have to make farming into something baller? It isn't baller. That's my point. There are tons of fun things you can do for lp. For like 3 weeks straight back when I played I just went on a hunting rampage. I killed so many animals that I began just leaving their corpses where I killed them or offering them to neighbors. I did that because it was fun and it gave me some decent lp. Then I went back to farming and helping build up my village.

I chose to do something less productive because it was entertaining. That's the point I made earlier. I don't understand why people have such a redonkulous focus on being the absolute bee's knees in games. I'm really, really, really good at shooters. Like, seriously. I destroy the shit out of people on xbox live. But I don't really enjoy them that much, so I don't play them. I don't think we should try to force this game (or any like it) to be something it isn't. If you can't enjoy the game without endlessly clawing upwards on a forever lp grind, to the extent that you only play when you have to, then why play?

As I said before: I love h&h. I will love Salem. I have even started playing again despite my raging hatred for curios. I'm not really arguing for the sake of change, because my opinion won't change anything. I'm really kind of just trying to understand why these problems have even sprung up in the first place. If you don't want to farm, don't farm. If you don't want to do anything in the game but get sweet stats so you can gank other players, why not go play a shooter? There is no grind to avoid in those. You just kill other players. I like almost all the content in Haven. It's just that now there really is no point in doing any of it unless there is a curiosity to obtain at the end of it or you just kind of feel like doing it even though it has absolutely no meaning at all within the game.

Curios and the playerbase have joined together to poop right on this game's face. D:

You can still go hunt all day long and just stuff your study with tusks and antlers. Sure, you'll have shitty LP gain, but apparently that's not actually a problem.

It's a problem to the point that my desired playstyle is now (Because of curios) so completely not viable that I'd be crazy as a shithouse rat to really give it a go. I used to make up for the shit lp gains by playing often. Now how often I play doesn't really matter much.

TIS POOP I SAY!

Though now that I'm getting accustomed to it, I guess I can see the good side. I can advance without even playing now. It's like a facebook game. Click a few times and check back in a day. Whoops! Now I'm twice as good as I was yesterday.

Not really. You still have to make/find the curios, unless you're just going to leech from your villagemates :). God I love my abacus factory...

Don't you mean "Your villagemates' abacus factory"?

why not use best of both systems?
half the amount of LP gained by curios and then reintroduce old LP system but with a daily maximum earned? therefore you have to be somewhat active to gain full LP. obviously people will still bot but it will mean those that don't wont be disadvantaged.
