I managed to get to the island where some really intelligent player already started a bit of a shelter. think about making it a cosy one later on, when ive found you. travelling along the coast -> safe from foxes. should get to you soon.

Sami, do you mind if I head over to your farm and take a few carrots, replanting them and just taking the extra? I don't have any natural carrot patches near my place as far as I know, and I'd like to broaden my crop types....

Yes that will be fine. But i'd like to know where your place is in return :)
I have those carrots growing ceperate because they grow too fast. They really need their own patch with plenty of space. So i don't mind losing a single harvest.

I think all of our crops should be planted in separate lots. It's kind of messy having them all jumbled up together, it also makes it less efficient to harvest.
Yesterday I did a pretty massive grain harvest and re-planted everything as close together as I could.
I also did a carrot crop and planted a heap of flax...
I also killed a bunch of cows and dried their hides and filled the tubs with cow hide...
I also built a finery smelter and made a single unit of wrought iron with it (I kept it for myself)
I also made a metric ass ton of sausages and a few straw baskets...

Yeah I was home "sick" so I got to play through a full day and night cycle, it was great. :P

As an aside I'd like to speak to you in person(game) about the villages plans for handling steel fabrication,
it's probably something we're going to want more organized and protected than the other production techniques

I hope that includes returning all the mining equipment instead of leaving that in your inventory.

eep, I hope so... I'm usually pretty careful to do that, but I had to log out in a hurry last night (personal issues) so I might have stuffed up...
A thousand apologies if I haven't I won't be able to remedy it until tonight (I'm at work now) which will be in about 9 hours time :(

We should have multiple picks anyway, but still... bad trav, bad trav
