Here's an answer: The only ones that know anything as to WHY the server has crashed is Jorb and Loftar. They are the only ones who can answer WHY.

Common causes for downed server?: Corrupted map data, bugs

You will not find any more information than that about the subject in these forums. I assure you.

And shockingly, the post was addressed to the developers, not the peanut gallery.

I'm well aware of the common problems with online games. I was *curious* as to the particular recently escalating problem here, and hoped the developers might shed some (new) light on it.

I don't get why this forum is so damn angry and unhelpful. Seriously, get a damn hug or something.

I and others have shown you respect, yet you accuse us of hostility and tell us to get hugs. What's with the chip on your shoulder? All we're trying to tell you is that your stupid fucking post is going to get zero attention from the devs, and that you shouldn't pretend to blow off the "peanut gallery" and say that you are only addressing the devs just because your stupid question is getting trolled, because it makes you look like a pretentious asshole.

I'm not going to say that people like this don't exist, because they do, but they are in such a tiny, infinitesimal part of the population that these goofy stereotypes are more indicative of the ignorance in the world than any redneck COULD be. I was born, raised and lived in the south for almost 40 years now and am personally sick of the media and Hollywood portraying us this way. "Derail off."

I'm not in the South, but I live in Redneck country. People live up to the stereotype not because these comedians talk about it, but because it's how they've lived for who knows how long. They just wear "You might be a readneck if..." like a badge of honor, though.
