Neither what the students did was right, or the punishment they were given, and the support she was given was given in the wrong area.
The punishment really just makes the poorer poorer. Making bad students who don't value their education get away with having even less of it has always been a terrible punishment.
Also, how the hell is giving her monetary support supposed to aid her unsound self-resolution? (The answer is it doesn't)
Broken perspective in "solving" this people have.
