Pokerstrategy.com
Pokerschool and forums, but has a community of several million people so there are all kinds of subforums.
I was paying for university (not gonna say college) at that time by playing poker, but decided to quit then and get back to a more reliable source of income. Decided to pick up computer games again a bit instead after years of absence and looked in the game subforum of said community.
They had discovered the game in early world 1 so that is how I joined HnH so early on. Met Klaue and the other Wayneville members there and we formed an in-game community.
Actually started talking to a few former Wayneville members again recently. Xybb and Schulzlator in particular. Man, those world 1 days were the best. Just the four of us, no palisade and yet nobody ever stole from us. Daylong hunting trips to the woods at the edge of the map, hunting bears in a TEAM, otherwise you would have died. The game may have had a lot less features back then, but the overall gameplay was a lot better than today. Probably had a lot to do with discovering all these new things too. The constant fear of the Pumpkin overlord or the mighty Goons, discovering a complete abandoned underground city...was absolutely awesome. Discovering a hole in...was it Bottlenecks wall? And they had a mine full of logs...logs man, more valuable than gold back then. We spent 8 hours hauling logs back to our camp ^^
Ok, this is getting out of hand. Not a good times memory thread
