Bay12games other games forum. Joined the great city of Bottleneck back in world 1. declared myself to be a cheesemaker (before cheesemaking was actually in)

They nearly killed me on the spot.

Fun times.

with in a month the full dev of our project started playing H&H and now our projects been without updates for 3-4 year's.

I saw it on 4chan's /n/

A thread about a guy's house, and what he'd build etc etc, after three screenshots, I was hooked.

Pokerstrategy.com

Pokerschool and forums, but has a community of several million people so there are all kinds of subforums.

I was paying for university (not gonna say college) at that time by playing poker, but decided to quit then and get back to a more reliable source of income. Decided to pick up computer games again a bit instead after years of absence and looked in the game subforum of said community.

They had discovered the game in early world 1 so that is how I joined HnH so early on. Met Klaue and the other Wayneville members there and we formed an in-game community.

Actually started talking to a few former Wayneville members again recently. Xybb and Schulzlator in particular. Man, those world 1 days were the best. Just the four of us, no palisade and yet nobody ever stole from us. Daylong hunting trips to the woods at the edge of the map, hunting bears in a TEAM, otherwise you would have died. The game may have had a lot less features back then, but the overall gameplay was a lot better than today. Probably had a lot to do with discovering all these new things too. The constant fear of the Pumpkin overlord or the mighty Goons, discovering a complete abandoned underground city...was absolutely awesome. Discovering a hole in...was it Bottlenecks wall? And they had a mine full of logs...logs man, more valuable than gold back then. We spent 8 hours hauling logs back to our camp ^^

Ok, this is getting out of hand. Not a good times memory thread :D

some people on a political forum I used to frequent made a thread about this game to set up a base of players from there. Some people convinced me to join, so I got passed a HS and jumped on, it was the first ever online game Ive played, but when we started it was like end of world 3. we restarted in world 4 and i went off and hermitted for a while. And since then i haven become a haven addict

4chan. The Traditional Games board was starting up a couple of camps so I decided to try the game out as a hermit in w3.

A friend who had been playing since W3/4, who bored the life out of me by talking about nothing else!

When i did finally give in and give it a go in W5 he decided to take a break and consequently offered me no help, tips, or even clues what-so-ever, except "READ THE WIKI", i was livid and almost gave up after death from aurochs and then swimming

But, here i still am, its the most addictive game i've ever played :D

So far it's looking like real life word of mouth and forum word of mouth. I imagine hitting up some of the bigger gaming sites forums with maybe a small review or something like that would bring in tons of people. IGN, Rockpapershotgun, etc etc etc. probably wait and see if Loftar can get a hold of the lag though.
