Bob dole dislike the ability to alter water into land. bob dole thinks a game needs some things that are unchanging.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I'll nerf it quite a bit-- don't worry.

i like the graphic style a lot and i like the game sound. And your voice is really good, for me as a german with no every day experience in (vocal) listening to americans it was very understandable. If your gamedev career isn't going well for sure you always could work as narrator. :)

Terraforming can come with pros and cons in relation to weather, tide, rain, and ocean currents.

Expanding landmass may be a temporary solution until higher tech like foundations or structures that reinforces the landmass.

You could build dams to cut off water and terraform a river.
Makeshift dams decays as time passes, so it might be possible to flood an area with water maybe?

from the vid...
"you can also eat other people. human meat is a wonderful source of muscle."
lolwhut? did i hear it wrong? (well, my listening skill is not as perfect as that of natives ofc...)
if i heard it correctly, how are you planning to deal with feasting on alts?

To be honest, I've barely begun on that aspect. I already have a justice system for murder, but vandalism will be a lot harder since it's harder to detect what true vandalism is versus building/creating. I liked how HnH prevented mass-destruction with battering rams, but I'm not sure if that would work.

How do you think I should handle it? I'll have a meeting next week with my team to discuss it in detail, but I'd like to get a few ideas from the people around here before I start.

imo, it would require either some man-power 24/7 (to be dealing with griefing actions whenever needed) or having pvp everywhere (to let players deal with them). or, maybe, just maybe, some limited hours of instanced map (for single player/group) could teach new players how to play. but tbt, honestly i have no idea how and what can be done to solve it. it also has a lot to do with what you find griefing and whatnot.

ive played a few non-pvp mmos before and what i came to love about this game was that there were no players shouting each other "i report u!" bullshit. (but, we got "bagouser!" here instead though =P)
it was amazing to learn that we rely on ourselves for many problems (or friends help or politics and bounties as part of the game), and found how "all pvp" actually give interesting perspectives to players and the game-styles. man-power solution is easier said than done, and youd always face "where to draw a line" problem as well.

Looks good. I like the graphics (much much better than Salem at least). Can't wait to see how this turns out and hope to test it soon.

I guess you can imagine how this community craves for a game similar to H&H (I believe most of us find Salem to be an unsuitable replacement for H&H).
