I will test this. Currently my farming is shit. But my dex is 80 and i have just gotten 110 sewing so i can start spening LP on farming. I'll let you know if i can make 120+ seeds.

I was mistaken. Before nerf maxquality of seeds was something like farming +50, i thought Loftar put in maxQ = DEX + farming to tune seeds down but this wasnt correct. Now its maxq = farming
Most likely Sabinati didnt recognize the nerf because his farming is > 120 ;)
Now i raised farming from 50 to 130 and seed quality is increasing a lot.

92 with straw hat or without? Maybe the hat gives you the small bonus.

actually it's that there is a +/- 3 or so variance to the seed quality

I doubt your farming skill caps your seed quality. It's more likely that the quality would have been higher, but your farming skill lowered it.
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

Nice and ordened summary of things bigfish, kudos to you.
According to one of loftar's old posts about QL though, tools only affect your QL in crafting by 1/4th.
As far as I know, this also goes for churning butter, since the churn is a tool in this case.

Imagine I planted a 100 QL wheat seed.
The crop is QL 100.

I have 50 farming, there's a slight variance of QL like sabinati said.
1:
I would lower the crop's QL when harvesting it to 75
So I could get seeds anywhere between 72 QL and 78 QL.

2:
I harvest the crop, QL 97-103 seeds.
Seeds get averaged with 50 farming skill to 74 (73,5) - 77 (76,5)

However I'm near certain its the first formula.

I had this in mind but the alternative formula to butter quality = (2*qMilk + qChurn)/3 would be somthing like butter quality = (2*qMilk + qChurn +PER)/4 which does not produce correct results for me.
You are pleased to test these ;)

I don't get you.

(4 * milkQ + churnQ) / 5
