My P-Claims (2) are small and not strategic. They purposely do not cover any useful resource (other than what I can create). I kept them active to do exactly what I have done, log back on for a few weeks and mess around, have some fun.
But that time will soon come to a close, and when it does, If this world is still around, I plan on posting the claims in Dwarves and Thieves, making them available to another new (or renewed) player as a starter base.
I am just mentioning this here as an alternative option.

And yes, if I get no takers, or (gasp) only trolls, I will simply unload into storage all my alt-vault goodies, de-claim and exit.

funny how everyone that wasn't hardcore enough to play during lag times now tries to catch up in every possible ways ...

some ppl did a lot of declaiming all through the lag of long time (before lag) inactive places already

 ;) :P :D

cheers to all that played all through the lag!!! 8-)

Is this aimed at me? How is people declaiming useless claims a way to "catch up" to anyone?

imo, its not so hard to just vandal a Vclaim onto the place and take the place with the claim over anyway (lay a HF, vandal a brick wall for protection and build xrs etc, etc). i have a few places with claims that have been inactive for months that i havent been able to get rid of. just brick the place and vandal what you need until you can remove the claims. unless the claim is an obnoxious size, i find it rather doable and a lot more fun, do to the fact that you could basically be caught any time :P

however, im not against people removing their claims. like you said, more resources and such will open up. (and dont forget the goodies :D)

its not so hard to get rid of those Vclaims either. back when the lag was just starting and my interest in the game was pretty much gone, I declaimed my area and over the course of an hour destroyed my Vclaim and auth objects. you can do it yourself if your the owner, but I believe youll have to wait for the auth to drop or have vandalism to do it otherwise. its just the Pclaims that are the trouble. damn things are everywhere. big swathes of unusable space. oh well, at least there are a few areas that aren't claimed. a few.

what about full trad then?

authority generated is based on base lp and sqrt(int*cha) iirc, trad/change is not a factor

Yeah, that's why I was confused as fuck as to what he was talking about. Also, I'm not taking about village claims, once the Authority runs out all of the objexts are destroyable which is my exact point. merely take that same property and put it on the p-claim totem. I mean, you are going to gain LP regardless so I fail to see a negative with this idea?

some people stop feeding their miners at some point and use the curios to grow an alt or two for extra miner in case or give away to other villagers or sell, or grow alt fighters. also, hermits use alt claims and they dont feed curios much after certain point. If you originally mean to suggest this to limit alt-usage, then fine, but that is another story.
grapefruit has a big village, but i see she trades a lot and sells curios, and probably feeding many players, and borka often plays a hermit, so no wonder they see a negative side to it. just remember that some people dont bother much about building up their own stats but rather care about their in-game life.

I think logging in on that alt should be enough. After the 2-3 months the Claim Stake will deteriorate completely. edit: What techknight said  Seems like the easiest and less of a hassle way to implement than anything else.

I'm not sure what GrapeFruit means :?:
