Honestly though, why bother playing? One of the biggest challenges in Haven and Hearth is developing resources and building up. If you're cheating the whole way there, it's a hollow victory in the worst possible way.

What do you people do? Sit there and touch yourselves while your bots do all the work? Is it just so you can wank over high stats, or is it the air of superiority you get when you're so much better than the people who play legit(-ish)?

Doesn't seem to be worth it unless you literally have nothing else to do with your life, in that case, I don't feel jealous... Just sad really.

That's just arguing semantics, which is why we're in this mess in the first place. You can't account for every variable in life, and if you do, it bogs it down and ruins the final product. It's up to the individual to be an asshole, of which, bugausers and botters are.

It is my opinion that any game developer should set rules for their games, no matter whether it is monopoly, boxing or Call of Duty III. Those rules dictate what is acceptable behaviour within that game. Given the interactive and reiterative nature of modern games, developers can "patch" any "loophole" they did not intend to allow by either changing the game itself or its rules.

TL:DR: don't blame the player, blame the game.

Edit: We can blame the player once they actually break against the rules, but not before then.
