Eem - i honestly don't know ;)

Maybe my love for 2D and to see how the potential it has grows with development (and to experience that live) and sure the contacts...

Imagine my Flatmate isn't able to use a computer (not interested, never bothered, too stupid ... ) and doesn't even know what the term "Nerd" means ... guess what he tells my about me gaming ...

My other friends that are gamers keep their fingers off HnH as they think if i'm playing that so intensive it must be too difficult for them :P (they're more into FPS and RTS)

The very same thing people climb mountains, knowing how dangerous it is.
The very same thing people drive 250 KmPh, knowing how dangerous it is.
The very same thing people do crazy stuff with bike/snow board/skies, knowing how dangerous it is.

It's adrenaline, baby!

Danger is the very same thing we are all still here, and always come back!

Just another way to convince yourself you are better than others. (The environment is tough but I am still here, alive, while there are so many sucker-quitter-post [no offense]).
I hate you! Yes, you!
How does it matter when you die? Today? In hundred years? What will be left of you after millenia?

I have to say i enjoyed this game initially cause i was new to gaming . I enjoyed the building something simple and creating a home while learning the basics. Meeting random people was interesting, many of whom i still communicate with, earliest of those being sevenless who i met late world 4.

In world 5 it was about building a town, just to try something new and build it up. World 6, it was about the town, a system, building a community inside, trading (i loved doing) and building good relationships with people. And world 7 is just an extension of that, building something whoch has worked previous world, with some of the best players around and those whove stuck with me since world 5.

I love the build up, the leadership, the communities being built, the trade, the changes in the world map and in the playets, in strategy and village systems and ofcourse the dick shaped things whicj can be created using anything by random ppl and getting screenshot of it... So yeah, awesome game, too addictive.

Lol, i grt total i must be a nerd by bigger nerds just for playing haven. Non gamers think im crazy when they see the work and detail that goes into running the town and dealing with villagers, jobs, the community etc etc.

What does you non computer friend say??

Unlikely to happen, the one time i did after a bad raid in our town in world 5, i was ready to quit, and what i got was motivation from ppl i had never met or known to help rebuild the town again, and it became better than what it had been before. Its why im always amused when people talk badly of this community, my experiences within have always been great

The sense of accomplishment. Definitely.
Getting my first Travellers Sack over q20,
Getting my first pearl and trading it away,
Finishing my palisade, and much more.

As others have said there is no game out there that comes close to what this game is. The way that each different village almost has it's own culture and the constant political drama makes it all seem so real. Although 60% of the community are assholes and murderers it's one of the most dedicated communities for any game I have ever seen.

Because it's a true mmo, a persistent world where shit that happens actually matters and literally everything is player driven.

Contrast that to a typical modern MMO, where getting killed by another player (if it is even allowed) only results in the minor inconvenience of running back to your corpse, the NPCs tell you to kill 10 boars because of some backstory that literally no one will give a fuck about, and a world that might look nice but never changes, so when you've seen it once, you've seen it forever. Also I like how this game doesn't try to be epic at all, yet does a better job of it than any game that does try. Other MMOs may have you riding a three-headed penis into the Kuiper belt in order to save the universe from destruction by the evil wizard Zordo, but it would be entirely scripted and completely pointless. I get a much more epic feel from harvesting my first q100 carrot, or finding a blue flower in a swamp, than I do from "saving the world" in other mmos.

I don't care if/when all my shit gets destroyed either by raiders or joftar resetting the world because the game is just fun, I don't feel like I have to grind to a certain level before the game "really begins" and I can start having fun.

You can't get this with any other mmo, which is why I'll keep playing.

Currently ... Erm ... Because it gives me something to do code(loosely used of course) wise. RoB wiki also kinda keeping me around.

Mmm ... I probably should switch(ditch) Ender client ... or dig into Java.
