In the slot if the items are different quality, a sub inventory menu opens up and shows them individually like the current inventory system does. Each item has limited inventory per slot.

Boards = 3-4 per slot
Dragonflies = 9-10 per slot

Could get a bit crazy if they auto-opened so I'd probably add a right-click option and a forced tutorial session on how to use it to prevent idiots from complaining.

sub-inventories? random max stack? forced tutorials? frankly, users don't sound like the idiot here

Its an idea. Just skimp on the tutorial and rely on Wikipedia would be the normal option that's in this game. The sub inventory part would be for managing the stacks and if you're having trouble understanding what an example is... ¦]

But I understand that this could lead to players carrying a lot of things too. I like loftar's idea of magical inventories. Oh and wheelbarrows could be added...

Wheelbarrows? We have hand carts. The only addition we need to them is for each slot to be able to carry a stack of an item like boards or blocks. No need for a new item just modify whats already there.

I knew about the hand carts but if it was modified that way I would agree we wouldn't need wheelbarrows.

How about forgetting all that needlessly complicated bullshit if you are using stacked items anyways.

random max stacks, what a stupid idea

A cheap (but less capacity) wheelbarrow option to the more complex hand-cart would be nice actually...

On that note: This topic should really be in Critique and Ideas.

If you ever do implement a magical inventory linked to a plot of land, I hope it's command-line operated.

"Board.
Board.
Board.
BOARD."

Solves the UI problem.
