Why would you do this? I could understand it if you were trying to build a very cheap computer, but that doesn't seem to have been your goal. Since Core, Intel is just so superior it's not even funny.[/quote]

I didn't build it, it was built by a soldier based in Korea who ran a custom gaming rig company in his spare time. Sure Core's are better but my entire rig is so insanely powerful that the chances of even 50% of the resources being used by any game in the next 10 years are slim to none. So really? what's the point in the difference from AMD and Intel?

I mostly just wanted to know why rather than make fun of you, but now you're just begging for it. Bulldozer was pretty much AMD's equivalent of Intel's Netburst; 2-wide int issue, shared decoders and L1I, long pipelines, no store-forwarding, no speculative loading, sub-par branch prediction and poor turbo-clocking. Sure, if you find some programs that makes truly judicious use of all 8 cores (ie. not a game) it might not be ridiculously far behind the Cores, but in single-threaded performance even Pentiums are beating it. And that's not even mentioning the shared FP logic. The K10 was a better microarchitecture. I used to be an AMD fanboy only 7 years ago and it really pains me to see them put out these hapless processors, but I can't stay blind forever. When we switched the Haven server from AMD to Intel it was like a 3-times speedup at the same clockspeed.

Fortunately, AMD's latest CEO changeup seems somewhat optimistic and they seem to have gotten some of their better engineers back, and I'm holding some hope for the K12.

CPU temperature measurements are known to be flaky sometimes; I know what I'm placing my bet on. For the record, one of my previous AMD CPUs used to record negative temperatures.

Maybe it was breaking the Third Law of Thermodynamics. :P All I use the computer for is games man, and there isn't yet a game I can't max out graphically, that's all I care about..... :P I have a laptop with an I7 and 16Gb ram in the living room and don't even use it.

I just bought the latest apple model, as usual they are ahead of the curve, and their computers aren't inferior to pc in any noticable way.
However, it doesn't appear to be working like my old pc. Does anyone know a good carpenter?

I talked to him, but he isn't sure what kind of timber my apple is made of :(

Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy
