You know sometimes a mouse is better than a tablet. tablets are for people who ar eused to drawing on paper and not on their computers. using a tablet does not ensure you will draw better if you are used to drawing with your mouse .specially tiny sprites which ar eprobably drawn pixel by pixel anyway, besides tablets have a weird texture which you have to get accostumed to, not to mention the fact you are drawing in one surface and seeing the results in another. You have to train yourself to use a tablet it does not magically improve your artistic ability. I used to own a $800 tablet and I think the things are way over rated

Mice are the best for sprites, but for anything bigger they suck. Never had a tablet so I can't really make a comparison, but I wager it's easier to draw long uninterrupted lines with one of those.

Very much that. What I lack most in the mouse is ability to apply pressure on the brush/pencil/medium of choice, but it doesn't really matter when you're drawing things for H&H, since they're not that big.

You can get Cintiq's you know, they have screens in the tablet.

i have one of those... kind of cool, actually, i did some sketching on it, but kind of got bored with it, and i don't see myself being able to do real photoshop work on it. kind of awkward, i guess.

As with anything, practice is required. I personally don't use Cintiques becaue they're really expensive and i'm already used to using my normal Intuous4 tablet and don't feel like learning how to use a different one.

Seriously, you're never going to find anything that just suddenly makes you an expert, but it is legitimate to say that tablets make drawing digital media in certain styles both faster and easier, and they also grant access to new styles that cannot be achieved with other forms of drawing without extensive work.

Use the tools you feel the most comfortable with, and for spriting you definitely get no advantage using a tablet, since sprites are usually done pixel by pixel.

well it was definitely way easier to draw "hand-drawn" style work, i just couldn't see a way i could comfortably use it for photoshop retouching/colorwork shit that i spend most of my time on
