Im not going to vote for a chieftain until I have a better idea of what they do.

I did intend that the votes be public. I received no feedback suggesting that they should be done via PM, and one person who said they preferred public voting.

I am going to consider you as explicitly voting for no chieftan. If that's not what you want, please respond.

I will not be running for anything. I will also be refraining from voting for now.

Like Niltrias' chieftan vote, I am going to consider you as voting for nobody for both positions. I.e. "no idol, at least for now." If that's not what you want, please respond.

My take on the matter of the idol extending civilization amounts to the matter of we're already quite civilized, and it's only going to keep getting 'worse' unless we have a sudden addition of being able to destroy cabins or Hearthfires 'timing out' after someone hasn't logged in in a long, long while. Thus the idol is merely hastening the inevitable, and is likely to start bringing about more benefits fairly quickly. I can understand Niltrias' decision and Hanuman's worries, but the majority seems OK with it. If that changes, I suppose we'll delay building the idol (and I'll have to put some empty chests at the depot, which I was planning on doing anyway).

As far as voting goes, I'm going to withhold my Lawspeaker vote for a time. I assume my Chieftain vote is cast for myself as mentioned in the original post.

I absolutely support the building of the Idol. It may not have much benefit now, but down the road it surely will. I think it is in BNs best interest to build the thing and get started on the way to civilization. Or as close to civilization as a bunch of sober dwarves can get.
Its just that I need higher-level animals to hunt, and the amount of time it takes me to go hunting is already too much. When the Idol is built, it will just be silly, so i need to move on. I think it makes perfect sense, really...hunters live in isolated areas, near the game. They dont live on main street of the capital.

Edit -- that was stupidly worded on my part. fixed.
And BTW, Ox, I am not voting for any particular person to fill the role of chieftain, but i am NOT voting against the position itself. What I meant by that "for now" comment is that I will likely be voting in future elections for cheiftain, once the duties of the role have been established. Assuming that there are future elections, and that I am considered to be a resident of BN.

I vote for myself. Additionally, I feel that we should give this chieftain thing a try, because I'm under impression that it brings bonuses to the whole group. If it doesn't work out, these things aren't set in stone. So, I also vote for Owen.
