You have a point, vaults shouldn't be 100% theft proof. Which they are designed to be. But then again we need a better way of protecting our valuables then claims, so they have to be a temporary compensation. If not, what do you suggest Mr. Genius?

However you completely fucking misread my post about the hearth fires. I'm not talking about hiding a hearth fire, I'm talking about a griefer coming in and walling your own in. If you still don't understand I will even draw a picture for you.

Now, you can clearly see that the person can not get outside of his own hearth area via drying racks. This is the problem I was speaking of.

I'd just like to say that the summoning isn't as unfair as it may seem. A player who commits no crimes has nothing to fear, that's granted.

But a sensible thief can also avoid summoning. The problem with thieves right now is that they rampage through a whole damn settlement, leaving more clues than one can fit in inventory. This makes it really easy to track down their hearths, especially if they're close to the scene of crime. A good thief would carefully pick a single container in a settlement, loot it and leave, leaving just one clue. After that he would move his hearth every time he logs on, to further confuse his pursuers. If the hearth is far enough, chances are that the clue will time out before a ranger finds it. Rotating between settlements, he would still be able to get nice loot even if he steals from just one chest in each of them.

b12 doesn't realize that the person walling them in is the person that they walled in.

Oh, are you that one idiot that built inside a forest? You mean the place two inches beside my house? Why, yes, we did wall you in.

But that was the only time we walled you in, if you are the person I think you are. If you are that person, you are indeed a sad one. We walled you in as a precaution, not as a griefing move.

I'm just walling you in as a precaution as well.

Well, we'll just have to keep killing you as a precaution, then. ;)

I'd have an easier time accepting griefers if the majority of ones I met weren't gigantic assholes as well. I'm not just talking H&H here, I'm talking most MMOs in general.

doesnt matter if he has a reason to summon you or not. its about the fact that you cant defend yourself against it.
the whole tracking thing is cool, but theres way too many things that need to be fixed before it gets reasonable for me. like the whole village-claim/kin-claim stuff hast to be sortened out. i left loads of clues without doing anything wrong. eg cause someone from laketown forgot to allow his kin (or doesnt want ALL his kin in his claim). the game mechanics force you to click in high speed, two clicks you trespass, sometimes dont even realise it. also, clues can be stored forever and in huge amounts. so in fact, the best thief will be found if someone wants him/her to bee found. its just a matter of time, basically. and skills ofc.

If you're talking about my claim, then it's the latter. I have a small (minimum size) claim around my house to make people aware that it's MY house for MY stuff and I don't want you punks in there :P

kimya wrote:two clicks you trespass, sometimes dont even realise it.

If all you're doing is trespassing then you're not summonable. It would be nice to have a more intrusive warning before trespassing though, or possibly even an icon that clearly indicates when you are trespassing and when you are not.

Yeah, that's a bit of a problem. The clues should decay the same time the original clue disappears in my opinion.
