yea.. i would say the witnesses arn't exactly objective, since you threatened to kil lthem, and i gave them all your stuff, its entirely possible they may take sides.

I think he means he was doing it jokingly, like, a joke to himself, since no one else can see it. Or maybe he's a risk-junky, and he 'knew' it wouldn't do anything, but really he 'knew' that it would. Masochist?

Given my experience with accidentally leaving my village - due to misclicking on the chat box and having my subsequent text misinterpreted as keyboard shortcuts for various commands - I'm certainly willing to believe that someone could have criminal acts on accidentally. I've certainly had "ranging" vision turned on accidentally often enough.

For the rest, well, I don't know Cpowa, and I only know Rift from forum postings, so I have no opinion.

Edit: My resolution: Cpowa was threatening newbies, which he probably shouldn't have been doing. Likewise, it's possible the newbies were intimidating him purposely. Rift then provoked him further, and by means of a personal joke, he ended up 'accidentally' attacking Rift. Rift defended himself to the death. The reason for homicide? He doesn't like people who threaten newbies and force their will on others. This is a self-resolved case. Get grindin', Cpowa.

When you're ready to attack something, your mouse cursor is a freaking sword. It should be immediately obvious that you should GET RID OF THAT if you're not intending to attack something.

And if you're just screwing around... you shouldn't let yourself actually ATTACK them. Doing that and then whining when they return the favor is just... stupid.

It's possible that he didn't. Once declared, it sounds as though Rift approached him, which is understandable.
